Remove the Questing Addons

if you quest with friends who use them . it will screw with your experience, even if you don’t use them. if you tell your friends you don’t want to quest with them, you are the one who is wrong in the eyes of those friends and others. because every one else is so set on gps in a world where it would not have existed. remember this isn’t TBC so no alien tech either. I don’t care if they were there in vanilla or not, I say break them.

How about we stop trying to tell other people they’re wrong for enjoying the game a certain way

there’s an idea

Also, QuestHelper existed in retail vanilla, so your entire argument is lulz

Like someone said, just because they were in vanilla quest addons, doesnt mean they should also be here for classic. If we could go back we’d gladly also pledge to remove these type of addons in 2004.
Having no quest addons forces people to talk and socialize much more, for hard to find quests. It also increases immersion but sure some people wanna get lazy. I been doing just fine withoit any addons im just taking my time and enjoying it.

That is sooo true, you should talk about it in another post to make them really read.

Good for you, but that doesn’t mean everyone else has to play the way you play for immersion. If it existed back then, then its fine now. Just because you probably didn’t have them back then cause you didn’t know about them. They were there.

This game would be a lot less fun without questie

I hate the questing add ons, but if people are not smart enough, sure, they need them.

it doesn’t seem like anybody understands the snowballing effect of things like this. you start with small quality of life features like this and 15 years later you have a world that doesn’t even resemble the old world. the shear amount of people quitting retail should make that evident. hopefully retail will bounce back but if the end of wrath onward are any indication, I think we can only expect things to get worse.

Just heard about Questie and took a look at how it works. While I don’t think its cheating by Blizzard’s definition, it definitely looks like it, as it circumvents all the work that is supposed to happen in figuring out what you should be doing and where based on the quest text. This is an rpg, use your heads, you’re not automatons.

Anyone who uses it is a loser cheater in my book.

I wouldn’t go this far. I’ve posted was against using it and felt is shouldn’t be used. After a few weeks of playing, i’f folks want to use a quest helper, its their loss. You lose so much by no trying to figure where things are on the map. Thats really all you would be losing instead of figuring out what west of Darkshire there is an encampment means. They have an arrow pointing there way… Let them play their way, i’ll play mine walking blindly west until I wandering into a full camp of werewolves 2 levels higher than me. LOL

They don’t interrupt anything, similar addons were available from day one of this game, as were websites that easily let you look up the information and have entire zones worth of objectives on a big map.

The crybaby posts are real today. The entirety of your complaint is based around these not existing in vanilla. Maybe actually spend one minute researching your complaint before you try to make everyone else play the game the way you want them to.

They’re never getting removed. Too bad, so sad.

As someone who got to 60 without using any questing addons (actually I didn’t use any for that matter) I dont think it will make a difference if you were to limit/remove questing addons or not. Sure, some people would level slower, but the main mob of people powerleveling are doing it without even doing quests. They just spam instance like SM and ZF. And as for whether it affects gameplay, I mean it really only means people wont read quest text and theyll miss out on all the cool lore stuff. So i just don’t see the point in banning those types of addons. Also those types of addons were in the game way back when. Carbonite was one if i remember correctly.

So we going to shutdown wowhead as well while we are at it or just chill out?

Next thing you know people will demand that you only play on a pentium 4 with 128 mb of ram and a low-end dls connection, these people are weird. …also bring on the transmog, I want my defias mask back.

Questing addons are not interrupting anything, or modifying experience for anyone but the actual user. I’ve been playing during Vanilla to WotLK without questing addons, now I already know quests and I don’t have as much time to play as I used to have, so questing addons are some appreciated help.

Total disagree with OP.

They had questing addons in Vanilla…

All these people going #noaddons #nochanges are in fact proposing a huge change from Vanilla. If you don’t want addons, there are plenty of games that don’t support it. Go there and live your happy noaddons existence.

I actually don’t remember them from back then, could you tell us the name? since its pretty easy to verify if you did indeed use one back then, you know the internet never deletes anything. So if you have a name of one you used we could look up the date on the publishing?

No… I am completely OK with the LFG add-on being axed. Questing Add-Ons? They can stay.
