What a generalization. The only people who applaud master loot being gone are people who are angry because they got benched from a mythic roster because they click and keyboard turn. Let’s both play this game.
You’re deluding yourself if you think that never happened.
Well if you assume everyone is evil it’s awfully hard to discuss anything rationally.
Lot of people are evil. Its important to have protections in place.
Every single guild I was in back in vanilla, BC, and all the way up to the removal of ML, ALWAYS started with less toxic loot methods. Rolling, even DKP systems. Only to change their mind once the roster was filled, and progression was being made.
Nothing like going through the gear up phase in dungeons, and then doing that first month of raid progression, only to have some officer/RL get salty that they didn’t get the thing they wanted. And all of a sudden, “we are switching to master loot guys”
Over the course of my gameplay in retail and classic I’ve probably been in around 10 guilds that all used Master Loot and not a SINGLE time has it been abused. You lot act like every second guild is full of Saturday Morning cartoon villains twirling their mustaches and cackling as they deny all the casuals their loot. Muaaa ha ha ha haaaaaaaa.
This is the most tired line of all. Everyone knows some people abused it. Everyone (normal) agrees that’s wrong.
None of that means that people aren’t able to use the system as intended and not have problems. We know because we did it.
Glad you got lucky there. Others aren’t so fortunate.
And so 39 spineless amoebas dont voice their objection, but go along and keep on doing his bidding? Do you have no agenda of your own? Are you this obedient?
Too bad. They ruined it for you. Maybe you should have spoken out and defended the abused when you had a chance.
More people aren’t. And in this case, 100% tradeable PL has the protection in place that you’re asking for while being flexible for the rest of us that aren’t scared of our GLs
Then others probably shouldn’t settle for raiding with toxic losers. How is this hard? What is so difficult about this situation? Are we going to disallow communication in game and ban discord next because sometimes potty mouths hurt peoples’ feelings? Master loot being removed doesn’t turn devils into saints, so what’s our next restriction to protect people from being spineless and refusing to stand up for themselves?
But if they do that, weak-willed, spineless people might feel compelled to give away upgrades when they could just say “no”! D:
And that’s usually months time and wasted money before you realize they are “toxic losers”.
Or you treat them with the same level of respect they’re treating the players. Don’t loot the body, and the loot goes to your mailbox. At the end of 4 weeks jump to another guild with your sweet loot. Even easier in a heroic guild, just “miss a week” and get “really lucky in the pug you went to”
I wasn’t a forum regular back in the day, so I guess I missed that boat.
Regardless, it doesn’t change the fact that the system could be made basically ideal for all parties going forward.
It’s ideal now, imo.
…no, it’s generally immediately obvious. If you get passed on loot that is a far larger upgrade for you and it goes to the GM’s GF that’s called a red flag. You lose a single lockout, it’s really not that difficult to spot if it’s being abused as blatantly as you claim.
That’s a you problem if it takes months to figure out you don’t agree with a loot system
Did you miss the more relevant part? That you already “put in” a lot of effort? That the “agreement” changed long after you started progressing?
