Oh boy, you actually think TSM is the only reason goblins can do their gold making thing, AND you still think goblins are the only reason the price is where it is. What a bizarre comedy.
I’m just a humble goblin trying to support my sub and give my guilds free consumables and legos.
They supply me mats I make stuff to sell and make us stuff for our raids. I enjoy it and I like to help out.
If they did just ban TSM I would have to go smaller scale, but with spreadsheets it wouldn’t really be the end of the world. Just making the game less enjoyable because… reasons I guess?
That reminded me of watching some youtube vid of a gold maker who uses excel type spreadsheets to keep track of stuff (as well as using TSM) and I thought, lordy, that’s verging into “too much like work” territory for my liking.
I used them for base legos back in 9.0 before TSM updated to be able to distinguish the different ranks. It was… a thing, it worked, but it was slow.
I can see that perspective, but it’s honestly not far off from the way players already min/max damage. It all started with spreadsheets at one point. Some people just like the numbers.
Time to take down Orgrimmar Street.
chuckles reading the people defending the automation is like hearing people argue that inflation and monopolies are actually good for the economy
I don’t use TSM and do everything by spreadsheet. I love making spreadsheets!
I make I would say about 1 mill if not more a month is what I make off just doing minor stuff. Nothing too crazy. I would make more of alch on my server wasn’t so silly with the low prices but oh well.
I love spreadsheets! I make my own and make my own calculators They are fun!
I do things by notepad, unironically.
I manually calculate my rolling average buy-ins and round up my price-ins, to force myself to take more profit than is visible to me.
I’ve so far made gold cap in profit and I haven’t paid for a sub since March? And I started wow last year in January/February.
Alchemy current content is a trap.
I just like to pretend it doesn’t exist because otherwise I’m constantly disappointed by the low margins for the time invested.
the automation does it for you or it’s not automation if you’re doing it.
TSM is one step away from breaching wows eula. They get around it by offering the base addon for free to taste but charge you for premium features. If blizz ever so slightly tweaked their eula wording, their would be a lot less shenanigans going on the AH.
The trick is to snipe buy out the spoof walls that appear during a dump by pump n dump bots. That way alchemy is profitable.
I know right. Only way to even make a margin off anything is know when to buy up herbs when they are silly low and keep doing that for each herb til you can make good profits. I know it’s diff based on each server but big pop servers yeah it’s not worth it to try alch it’s just… bleh.
I do something like that with IRL bills I round em up so when I pay them the extra goes into a savings account or towards a little crypto currency.
TSM has premium?
Literally had no idea.
They do, and I don’t get how that isn’t against the addon rules. They had a forum post going over that, and I thought it said no premium addons but idk.
That’s like I check my addons and I went to install bad boy the other day and found a funding file telling how to fund them and I’m like “UUUUH…” so I uninstalled it. The wording for all that stuff is confusing.
Edit:
I think you are misunderstanding what people are saying then.
Yeah well that’s not good. TSM should def not be doing premium anything.
No, I understand you’re trying to posit that “larger numbers are better!” ignoring the fact that if the market corrected itself, that 100k gold would carry the same weight that 250k does currently.
I’d rather my currency have a higher value than what it is currently inflated at, especially since the effort to earn that currency has exponentially gotten more difficult.
