Because they haven’t pressed it in a while? Because the sham isn’t in cc? The sham has trinket? You haven’t used burst yet? This is like the Rogues being upset that somebody trinket walls every button of theirs as it’s some kind of mystery.
Because it’s not about some bag addon. It’s about meters and logs and knowing what happened. It’s about being able to see stuff. Literally just having the ability to make things easier on your eyes. SORRY bro, I don’t have 20/20 vision. Most addons are just about making information ALREADY available to you more accessible. Why is that a problem? Makes absolutely no sense.
You can literally see it without addons.
Or you could LITERALLY just CC the shaman. When I go for traps, I might CC 3 targets. stun on kill target, scatter on the shaman, and then trap on healer. I don’t need addons to know todo that.
Basic logic has been tossed out the window.
What I gather from this is that you are one of the players that would unsub if they removed add ons.
100%
Game would be awful without them. I physically have trouble seeing things. Sorry, I don’t have perfect eyes.
Yeah, but not the pvp addons you’re thinking of which I probably don’t even use
I’m relieved to see you play without addons too, Kennie. I was worried you were one of these cheating weakaura sweatlords.
Anyone who quits over addons would not be any noticeably more successful with them and is looking for an excuse to not learn or improve.
That being said, SEVERAL addons should be made available as baseline UI options.
Can you tell me what weakauras is
What about the ones that recognize some of their success is due to them and therefore the thought of getting worse by losing them is enough to panic ? I would argue this bucket is much larger than the population that doesn’t put them on as a scapegoat.
So being able to see small icons is what really irritates you?
Yeah, some of us are kind of old and our vision ain’t great.
It’s a thing weak players use to become clairvoyant of their surroundings within 100 yards.
I don’t even now which hunter pet is real under the 21 nameplates man
There’s a psyfiend in there somewhere, or at least that’s what my teammates keep yelling
But everyone else would be impacted the exact same way, so everyone else’s access would drop at the same time.
Also, this doesn’t even start to look at the population of people with disabilities who rely on Addons to access the game, and the extreme amount of QOL features that they bring.
This is exactly my example here. Making information more visible doesn’t tell you what you need to do or how to respond. Also, the information is always there, it just makes things easier to see.
Yes but everything becomes an arms race. If you’re not tracking it, your opponent is. If you’re not using it, the raid is still built assuming you are.
I agree, and I think it is problematic from a PVE standpoint, especially with how CE raids are designed/tuned. That being said, for everything short of end-boss mythic HoF prog, WA & addons are more of a luxury than a necessity.
PVE is not designed the same way.
The game has tools to let you track stuff already. The game has stopwatch functionality in macros. Before I was using gladius I used the stopwatch function to track DRs.
Why is tracking something so game breaking to you though? Knowing doesn’t mean you’re going to make the correct response.
Heres the sum of it. Addon players are the type of people to show up to the Tour De France on a motorcycle and be like “WHAT?! All I did was add an engine to my bike. Anybody else could do this if they wanted to.”
Because all this space ship crap autopilots people to an extent and they’re no longer actually playing the game. Why look for something when you can have a giant air horn tell you exactly when to press something? You’re right in that the air horn is entirely optional, and people can perform well without it, but it is undeniable that add ons circumvent having to actually get better at the game.
Combat Add-ons ruined wow. They allow for macro’d scripts that exploit the system, allow instant kicks and feigns and jukes, and turned the game from skill based to who ever has the buy in or can get the exploits out first, wins. MYTHICS, RAIDS, ARENAs: not one video or event worth watching because they are all automated combat performed by programs and not the player. Some add-ons, like the one button GSE add-on, make the game so useless to play that they only thing one needs to is steer the character as they one button mash their way to event completion. On a good note, i only have 3 months left on the sub and all 12 of my nieces and nephews, whom i used to buy Annual accounts for them every Christmas, are not missing WoW or any other game by the company. They opted for steam credits or other games.
