The UI is functional, it’s not like it’s not. It’s just that people want more options, and I’m sure we will get there, but for now I mean this is just a foundation.
There’s no way they just don’t work on the UI over time. Guys, it’s been 3 days. I think we will be okay.
Anyways, I just got the notifications that I’ve been spreading a lot of love today and I’m out of likes! See ya!
Don’t forget folks, you don’t have to come down on other people having technical problems with the new UI just because you weren’t raised right.
Especially when you’re not good at arguing your empty points. Take care!
#5 is a problem that didn’t exist with the old UI because the minimap was already a good size.
#6 was never a problem because the bags never overlapped the hotbars, at all.
#7 was never a problem because the old UI provided dark window backgrounds to make all the UI elements stand out from the game environment.
#8 wasn’t a problem previously because the XP bar was made very small and tucked nearly against the menu button and hotbar UI and was out of the way.
#3 wasn’t a problem because there was an addon that got rid of that stupid box altogether (but said addon no longer works and there are no replacements)
#2 wasn’t a problem because the portraits were never animated before.
I’m sure you’ll get another add on in a few days that will bring back the old UI and all of your old add ons will be good to go too. This is no different than any other big patch or expansion. Things stop working, people cry and complain, kinks get worked out, rinse and repeat. It’s baffling how angry people get over a game.
i had to go and look up tutorials on youtube because blizzard are bloody terrible at showing how stuff works. they just expect you to bungle through it whether or not you are using it correctly. if you have people make how to guides, on how to use your ui guess what you stink and making a game.
They were listening to the wrong people, ie longtime ui addon users who wanted their favorite features implemented in the game. Those people got some of their favorite features added and some not. Some are different and not as they imagined they would be. They weren’t paying attention to people who didn’t use ui addons. They weren’t thinking at all about how some of the more inexplicable changes would affect accessibility, and now it’s pretty much too late to go back and redesign it.
Monotone nanoicons, really?
Overlapping panels that keep you from clicking the thing you need to click.
It gives me less useful info than the old ui. I guess that’s okay, and I’ll learn to live with it, since they decided to make my spec trash and I won’t be doing instances.
Because they’re spending 8 hours a day messing around with it.
People want to log in for 5 mins and be done with it. MOST people don’t want some elaborate nonsense, they just want it to work!
After reading TONS of threads here, I’m certainly convinced most people would have been fine if there was a button that just let them have/make it look like the old UI AND BE DONE WITH IT.
That is what we DON’T HAVE.
Tell those same people you’ll PAY THEM 6-8 hours a day to mess around with the UI and I bet you’ll see a sudden shift in attitude. wut a surprise!
Most people are fine with the new UI. The unhappy are always the loudest. The new UI is a step in the right direction. It will allow people to cut back on addons. If you don’t use addons you are part of the minority.
Once I learned how to properly edit the UI, I think it’s great! It’s a lot less clutter and a lot more open for me. Just takes a bit of messing around with.
Remember you can also use the UI Scale option in Settings to shrink the size of the overall UI too! Setting it to 75% was perfect for me.
