Remember dueling?

Remember how lots of people would make their pvp friends by just mindlessly dueling people outsite major cities for hours back in Wrath or Cata?

Legion utterly killed dueling and now that Bfa isn’t exactly the best for pvp overall, would it be crazy to ask them to relocate the “dueling guild” npcs in Boralus/Dazar to SW/Org gates and just have people who want to duel be phased into a common area for people who want to duel? It may not be the most balanced experience but at least it might revive dueling, I miss it.

you’re talking about a time when the pvp devs actually cared about pvp, and a time when sub numbers for this game didn’t absolutely tank.

Cata dipped badly what are you talking about

I loved dueling but you are right that the state of the game progressivly has seemed to greatly decrease the people dueling.
When i go out front of org the only people i tend to see are FOTM and people with busted PVE gear.

I ain’t saying it didn’t dip at all, but I’m saying it didn’t go down dramatically as it did WoD. WoD is where you could literally say the game tanked hard.

Cata was also just right after the absolute peak of this game in subscriber’s, which was wrath

WoD didnt dip due to pvp and they actively were still tuning pvp a hell of a lot more than they are doing right now. Wod had dipped because of pve content draughts. Having brf for 1 year and 4months(almost 5) and hfc for 1 year and 3months. Those are what caused wow to dip in wod. Cata was worse for a lot of people because vibrant servers died and never recovered when blizz released 4.1 and called 2 5 mans a major content patch

More people quit the game during MoP than Cata though, and if we talk about especific numbers, more pvp players quit bc MoP than Cata, it was so bad they had to merge all 13 battlegroups into 1.

Want to go for a duel?

Im always willing to duel. Though i would have to roll fury to have a chance VS ret.

people still duel outside org everyday actually. if you go out there you would see its not dead at all

the dueler guild didnt take off because people dont want to duel tanks and healers imo

Cool I don’t play ret though.

oh… well that would be a perma stall then :frowning:
I do way to much healing on my fury build for you to land a kill and i would not have enough pressure to kill you 1v1 without any dampening if your good.

Sad that i have to play with these PVE gimics to do well in WPVP
But if others have them you have to level the playing field or get dumped on :frowning:
I almost always run fury in world but i would prefer arms.

I agree. All of season 2 it was about getting those COS items a pve raid should never be your pvp vendor.

yea i stopped dueling when i did like 600k to a DK who had the fun toys and he never dropped below 85%.
So i went and farmed my own toys and then started dueling again. Didnt lose another duel that day.
Apparently raiding massively improved my PVP skill. At least that must be the take away right?

I can remember dueling a warrior who was full COS items and if he wasn’t sheilded from most of my damage he was being healed by the sheild popping. I did beat him once though. :cowboy_hat_face:
