Received Stress test email - no access

i also did not get access after receiving email, any news?

Removing PTRs wonā€™t retroactively fix the issue (although itā€™s a good idea to still do so). Since thereā€™s a 2 PTR limit, and the Stress test counts as a ā€œPTRā€ when they tried to flag your account by adding the stress test ā€œPTRā€, it failed because you were already at the 2 PTR limit. The only way to resolve this is by them actually separating the stress test PTR from the live PTR and re-flagging the accounts. I highly doubt this will get done before the stress test starts unfortunately.

So far, ā€œeveryoneā€ that only had 1 PTR that has refreshed their client had the Stress Test show up. It was reported that the Blizzard Agent that runs in the background HAD TO BE RESTARTED for it to show correctly.

Those that either rebooted their computer, or changed their client from Standard to Beta and back, or cleared the processes in Task Manager ā€” those people had the client show up.

The issue was two-fold: there was a delay where emails were going out faster than the flags, because it was getting held up by all the errors of the 2 PTR accounts. Thatā€™s why some people got emails first and then the client showed up later. It was able to ā€œcatch upā€ to that spot, if that makes sense.

The conversation going on over at Blizzard right now is:

  1. Do we have enough confirmed downloads of the Stress Test to effectively perform the Stress Test?

  2. If not, they need to find a solution and get those others flagged correctlyā€¦but thenā€¦

  3. Do those people have enough time to download the client for the test?

  4. Test begins in about 4.5 hrs. I would say if a solution isnā€™t out within the next 2 hours, then no, most people donā€™t have the time to download the client.

  5. The other discussion is: can they push the Stress Test 2-hour window to tomorrow? Only problem with that is they then alienate the other people that didnā€™t have 2 PTRs.

At this point, if I am Blizzard, you move forward with the Stress Test (if you have enough confirmed downloads) and then fix the 2 PTR problem later and then invite all of those people to the next Stress Test. Itā€™s sucks, but this is beta and we have to expect those things. And Iā€™m saying that as a 2 PTR account that got invited and canā€™t get in, lol.

Anyone quite good with english can make us get beta access because of this oopsie? lol

Logically that makes the most sense. Iā€™m sure they have a good amount of people in the stress test, and likely OVER invited since they knew not everyone they invited would be able to stress test in the 2 hour window. There are still two other stress tests to be performed, so objectively if I was Blizzard, I would be putting my focus into the stress test coming up in the following hours rather than trying to fix an issue affecting only a small minority of people who had 2 PTRs. And yes this is coming from someone who has 2 PTRs and didnā€™t get flagged correctly.

Just got one ptr account removed now itā€™s the waiting game.

Iā€™d be curious to know that if you get invited to the wave 1 stress test, does that also include the subsequent stress tests? Since we were invited, and likely will not be able to log in for the first wave, I hope they ultimately do get around to correctly flagging the accounts they invited for the last two waves.

Iā€™m getting my 2nd PTR removed, because Iā€™m having the same issues. My wife and I both had to, actually. Theyā€™re telling us that neither one of our accounts had anything indicating we were in the stress test, yet we both received emails.

I had only one PTR account and did that, and it didā€™t work. I think I messed up by making a second PTR acount before I saw this thread in the hopes that it would help but I guess not. Too late now :frowning:

Did you have another BETA listing, maybe from a previous expansion?

Those counted too.

just spoke to a CS at blizzard and it appears that a bunch of us received the email by mistake and instead of saying our bad we messed up blizzard is just going to wait for you to reach out to them. the CS I spoke to actually told me that there was no indication on there end that I even got the email or that I was even invited to any of the stress test or beta. so It seems like blizzard is just casting us aside and hoping we donā€™t get to up in arms over there mistake, which if you think about it isnā€™t a big one but defiantly deserves an apology.

Nope. Iā€™ve never been invited to any beta or the like in the ten years Iā€™ve had my account. Just the PTRs I created, one from years ago and the second from just recently.

so basicly, were getting craped on and freaked out for no reasonā€¦ wow

I have a hard time believing the validity of this statement. the CS would have no idea if the emails were sent out by mistake as that is handled by the development team. Also, the CS would be able to check the validity of the email as that is something they have the ability to do.

Despite this, no update to this thread from a Blue tells me we are screwed.

You are correct but he told me that I had no indication or Beta license on my account and that the email might have been sent out by accident

Yeah I estimate our chances of getting into the stress test are around 32.3, uh, repeating of course, percent.
