Void elves are dumb. Void elves should have just been high elves.
But, aren’t high elves/blood elves/void elves the same exact thing? Just different names for themselves?

High Elves - Original “Legolas” Elves
Blood Elves - surviving High Elves, who renamed themselves after Arthas attacked them. “Blood” is a political statement to honor the fallen High Elves.
Alliance High Elves - A splinter group who lives in several settlements across the Alliance territories and Draenor → the group, the Alliance players want to play
Void Elves - Blood Elves who were transformed into voidy beings (1st generation) and Blood/High Elves wayfarers who joined them and aren’t affected this much by the transformation (2nd generation)

Can someone explain to them that lore-wise High Elves left the Alliance due to Garithros, changed their names to Blood Elves (out of respect for their massacred people and capital) and then joined the Horde because the Alliance were pretty racist to them.
The number of ‘High Elves’ who didn’t do a name change is so low that it wouldn’t justifiably constitute an actual race because nearly all of them are in the Horde.
Blood Elf physiology is identical to High Elves, if it helps I think Blizzard should just add a button on Void Elves that can be ticked on character selection that says ‘High Elf’ and make that be the end of it. But knowing High Elf fans (trolls) they’d keep asking for more, more, more, and more. (FOUR ELF RACES IN GAME BTW Night Elf, Blood Elf, Void Elf, and Nightborne. It is incredibly saturated at this point yet they’re still on the forums crying).

They do. The Alliance have a whole militia organization based around High Elves (= Silver Covenant) and they have been a major presence across many expansions. Compare it to the 10-20 Void Elves, they have a lot more.
That’s why people want to have playable Alliance High Elves.
It is. But nothing of this would have ever happened if Blizzard would have honored the original request and not invent a complete new player race out of nothing.

The toxicity from one side I think is primarily driven by the other.
I definitely see your point of view, and I too would like it to stop.
However I don’t believe many (not all) of the people involve with the often vitriolic spam deserve to get their way.
Despite not having a horse in the race initially I now don’t wish to see High Elves in the Alliance merely in contempt of the farce that has now been going on years.

No. I want Blue Eyed Blood Elves to go over to the Alliance. This toon should be in the Alliance right now according to the lore.
Please, tell us more about this lore where blood elves are an Alliance race.

Blood Elves were kicked out of the Alliance by Garathos. They originally were in the Alliance.

Blizzard and the amount of requests disagree with you here. There is a demand for this race and they won’t stop until Blizzard reverse the damage they have done. Everything up to now was a backpaddling on their initial idea.

I think you misunderstood my post. It is the sheer number and the toxicity of those posting them which is why I now don’t want them.
Blizzard hasn’t done any damage that needs to be reversed, anything they have done feels less like agreement (otherwise why wouldn’t they just comply?) instead more like unwilling placating of a toxic community.
The fact that people believe “damage has been done” is the problem. Just because daddy didn’t give you what you wanted doesn’t mean they did anything wrong.
Players have been asking for other races for years as well that haven’t been received, but they haven’t kicked a fit because they received Highmountain Tauren instead, or a farce of what Nightborne actually are in game.
It is just this one corner of the community, who feel entitled to something they were never owed.

You didn’t want them before as far as I remember your postings, so I really don’t see any difference in your postings the past years.
There is a damage and there were reactions coming from Blizzard and why the Void Elves got anything but Void updates.
You simply dislike the idea of people fighting for what they believe is right. You cannot and don’t want to understand that people don’t like being wrongfully treated and you also compare it with entitlement because it’s much easier than confronting your own beliefs.
If you want to blame someone, then feel free to direct your disappointment towards the developers.
Common Sense prevails though, you can always open General Discussions and find similar “entitled” topics somewhere else.
