My point is that if I go and do a heroic dungeon with 4 people and do not queue with RDF I should receive the same possible reward as those who do the exact same dungeon, with RDF.
And honestly it’s less about the Perky Pug as that was added specifically for the reasons you mentioned. I’m more talking about other rewads, the mount, points, etc
If you have a full party of 5, why wouldnt you use RDF? If you want everyone to fly out there, then have everyone at the meeting stone before you queue up. If you want the bonuses, just use the thing.
The only thing you cant do is 4 man it (or 3 man it, whatever). So the bonuses still require you to have 5 players, which could also be a metric they want to increase.
And I’d like to be able to get Invincible’s Reigns without having to raid, but that’s not how it works.
Look, there’s how many pets and mounts in the game that don’t require RDF? So because a there’s 1 of each attached to the tool it’s a big deal? Come on.
The drake should have had its original availability until rdf, so that’s a failing if the Classic team. It’s moved to occulus as an incentive for players not to bail out of the dungeon. I think that’s a good thing.
The pug is just a little pet. One dungeon a day for less than a month isn’t a big ask. Or maybe one day your guildies and friends aren’t around, and you have spare time so you rip out a bunch of random heroics and get it much sooner.
Giving little incentives to encourage participation is necessary. It means more people, more groups, shorter queues. If someone is dead set against using rdf, they miss out on one potential pet. Focus on the other 90% in the game.
Should note here that the item you got for queueing lower level dungeons usually occupied the same slot as heirlooms (ie, shoulders or chest) so you never actually used it.
