RDF for WOTLK. Yes or no and why?

I would like to hear what others feel about this particular issue. I know a lot of people are either for or against it for a myriad of reasons. I want to hear yours.

Personally I am for it because I feel it promotes alt leveling as well as gives you a reason to do dungeons. I still like the idea of dungeon quests being found in the world and having quest chains and such because it’s more interesting than “Oh hey this random NPC is sitting at the entrance ready to make me do stuff” but the tedium of finding a group of levelers in range, ensuring everyone isn’t just half afking the run, and then getting everyone to the dungeon (Because lets face it. Most people are lazy and wait for a summons) feels like it’s almost not worthwhile. If my paladin didn’t have my gf healing it for dungeons I wouldn’t even consider doing them on my level grind.

Yes because it will help revitalize leveling dungeons and gearing up fresh 80s to get into current content. And while I don’t agree that it should be kept out until the ICC patch, since we got other things early like dual spec and bg queue, I am willing to wait until then to get it, if they’d just come out and say it is coming already

Agreed. This is OP btw finally managed to change my character on Forums. It’s almost necessary at times considering the amount of people either attempting to level or practically refusing to due to the tedious grind it will incur.

In case you missed the thread on the front page with 1k comments:

Your spam would look great on there instead of a new thread.

Boredom mixed with nonchalance.

At this point, it’s too late. RDF should have come out many months ago when almost the entire playerbase was clamoring for it.

Now the realms are dying and moving on to other games except for the Blizzard loyalists / people addicted to wow because they have played it most of their life.

Time to move on. Game is dead.

Why not both?

this entire statement is correct. especially that last part, most of us who want RDF don’t mind waiting for it (even though it should have came during phase 2 imo if they wanted to keep it out of the rush to 80 in phase 1) we just want to know for a fact that it is coming.

not more of this “we are definitely closer than ever to saying yes to it” or “RDF wasn’t in game until ICC anyways so if we were to add it it wouldn’t make sense to do it before then” gaslighting

Nty to RDF.

Classic has thrived without it. It’s nothing but retail players coming to wotlk who want it.

Yes leveling being a solo open world experience is peak classic thriving experience…

Oh wait that’s one of the major reasons RDF was added in the first place by much more competent devs.

Sure, because no “retail players” did this expansion when it was current and know why RDF was added in the first place.

I’ll give you a hint - it was to help address smaller servers dying because people couldn’t find groups for content outside of raid, which eventually led into not being able to find pugs for raids when you were short. Sound familiar?

Not why it was added but okay princess.

Cataclysm was already well into development when RDF launched. RDF was the new system for the daily heroic. They added it during ICC since it was a year long phase to integrate the new daily heroic system since it removed the daily quest when it launched and replaced it with the random daily heroic.

The daily heroic was replaced by the weekly raid quest.

If you want the sauce. Check 3.3

And RDF was already in development when Wrath launched but was not ready at release.

And Hyjal was in development in classic? What’s your point

Stop trying to assume an effect is a cause.

Also a pretty big stretch to say development when it was barely on the drawing board.

Where’s your dance studio?

My point is RDF was incorporated into the game for a reason, and that reason was not for Cataclysm dailies. It was because Blizzard realized during TBC that players raid-logging made it near impossible to find groups for dungeons late tier.

Furthermore, you would do a lot better in discussions if you didn’t try to punctuate your arguments with half-assed insults. It really just highlights that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

No RDF was a new system for all dungeons, it was not exclusive to the daily heroic, heroics or ICC. It literally worked for all dungeons and saw a massive bump in people running all levels of dungeons.

It also wasn’t really new it was just CRBG’s(a vanilla system) but for dungeons.

Always amusing when the anti RDF crowd has literally no clue what RDF even was.

literally RDF in the cataclysm panel for blizzcon 2009. Cataclysm feature added for ICC

Have a great day

Yes we should have rdf. It helps improve the levelling experience, helps with gearing at level 80, and just makes it easier to run dungeons in general which a lot of us like to do. Plus it’s a major system that was added in Wrath. I know #nochanges is not much of a thing anymore and I don’t even mind changes to the game, but we shouldn’t be removing major features in classic in my opinion.

Also I don’t really think the major arguments against it even apply in this version of the game, and a lot of it doesn’t even make sense.

Just give us rdf already!

LMAO classic is thriving? Wrath literally died HARD when this change didnt incur and is the reason many people arent and wont join into the experience because boomers like you think it changes anything. Wrath classic is only worse off without it.

Wotlk has issues, blizzard worsened them with M+.

Still vastly more alive than retail wow.

RDF ain’t needed.
