Raids are disheartening

We’re not about to make M+ give less gear or increase it’s difficulty.

People really need to stop with this “M+ gives too much loot” BS lmao. It’s a non issue.

Atm, BiS comes from the raid. And when tier sets come back in 9.2, raid gear will be BiS again, in both raid and M+.

Pve is garbage.

No. No, no, no.

Master loot won’t help when you’re not getting items you can’t use (which I presume is the point of your post), and when the drops are so limited.

Also, raid rewards can be traded. So you’d be taking it from someone who also needs it so it can be given to you. Which only frustrates someone else.

The only cure for not enough loot is “more loot”. Then we can get back to screaming about getting the wrong loot.

RIP roll tokens. It’s insane they got rid of these completely. One a week would help.

Also the freaking vault is insane. It has the opposite of rng protection. I wish I was better at stats so I could work out the probability of getting the EXACT same ring (just different tertiary/socket) three weeks in a row. When they m+ loot table is as big as it is. What are the odds of that?!? Someone tell me. Then this happens every week on every toon since BFA?!? It’s actually nuts. :exploding_head:

The fun of raiding? :woman_shrugging:

Blizzard’s been doing what they can to drain that away too, though.

Too many end-tier spreadsheet bosses, for example.

And “skips” that need you to kill multiple bosses just to get the skip done. Give us skips like BRF and HFC, again.

Here is the best part for you, 7 of the pieces you are looking at on my toon are “hand outs” from other players that didn’t need them and I wasn’t the only person rolling for the items. This is not a joke.

The 252 weapon was the only viable piece of loot from my vault 8 weeks ago.

The domination hands, shoulders and chest are the only pieces in 6 weeks. Let that sink in.

But they can’t always. Remove the ilevel restrictions and it’d be a decent compromise.

Trading gear isn’t a “handout” it’s literally part of how raiding gearing with a consistent group works.

The loot stays within the team, and more and more can be traded. Loot drops are proportional to the number of players that can use the item.

You’re geared enough it doesn’t seem like you need much left from the heroic raid, so I wouldn’t expect you to get much out of it very often at this point? Maybe 1-3 select items?

At least the raid doesn’t take away one of your weapons or armor whenever you complete a raid.

That’s not how RNG works. Your extra good luck today has zero effect on drop chances in the future.

THat is why you must sacrifice alliance high elves to Lootcifer

Right now Raids are a JOKE compared to M+.

I feel lucky that my current guild invests 3 hours of one day a week, very efficiently doing progression on current tier, because it’s just not worth it. I’m not worried about getting AotC, I’ve gotten it consistently since Siege of Orgrimmar, but it seems like that’s the only reason I’m even showing up for raids.

  • Gear drops at heroic are inferior to what can be looted from the M+15 great vault. Who cares about item level 239 pieces when you can outfit yourself in item level 252 gear just spamming M+15 or higher?
  • The drop rate simply isn’t there. I consistently see more drops from the same amount of time spent in M+ runs (about 3) than I do running a full clear of the current raid. Most weeks, all I get from raiding is anima.
  • The drop rate on rare pets and mounts isn’t high enough to motivate anyone. With the exception of the Sanctum Gloomcharger, which I got the very first time we killed the Nine and which seems to have a high drop rate, I personally never get pets or mounts.
  • I usually spend the same amount for consumeables for a night of running M+'s as I do raiding. I use flasks, food, runes, weapon oils, healing pots and agi pots if need be. These things add up in cost and I get more of a return on the money invested running M+.
  • The cost in either time or gold to keep up a legendary. Right now I’m using a rank 4, and working towards a rank 6. If I were doing mythic progression I’d have had to suck it up and just drop gold on a rank 6, which would be horrendously painful. I honestly feel sorry for anyone in that position. Add to it all the time spent running Torghast and Korthia for the materials to produce one.
  • And finally the BIG ELEPHANT in the room, Domination sockets. It’s not enough to try and get raid gear. No, no, no, no, no. Now you have to try and get not only BIS items, but items with Domination sockets and hope and pray you get the right Domination shards to put in them. Of course you can run LFR for the guaranteed drop, but who honestly wants to do that for something that should be dropping more consistently in Normal and better difficulties?

TLDR: The equation of time investment vs reward is way off as things stand.

That’s how we ran in Wrath. We were a 25 Heroic Guild and ran 2 nights a week with our group but then we also did a “fun” night doing 10 man Heroic with the core of the Guild (Officers and long time members) because they didn’t share a lockout. They ruined things in Cata with the shared lockouts and matching loot systems IMO.

It was great and I really miss that design.

Dude it is a handout because your specific character did not receive the item itself and you’re relying on others luck to get pieces and then RNG roll off luck of your own to win against 5 or more other people.

Aside from that you have completely missed the point.

At no point EVER should you be made to feel so disheartened to do so much for little to nothing as a reward when the effort, planning, consumables and time spent out weighs the benefits.

Even in PvP, the people who choose to do this have RNG per match, the GV and even a VENDOR to get what they want.

The people who choose to do PvE / Raids don’t get a vendor option regardless of the raid being part of their cream selling point.

Every boss drops 1 item per 5 in the raid. It’s more annoying with PL picking who gets the item, but with a consistent group it’s the same gearing process.

If you have 20 that’s 4 items every boss to the raid. The game picks who instead of rolling or ML, and then you trade it around to the people who need it in the raid.

40 drops in a clear with 20 people. Over and over gearing up your raid.

How raiding has been done for ages., with the addition of getting strong gear from dungeons as well making everyone gear up even faster.

Ummmmm no, classic of that was our recent kill of the eye on mythic. 2 raid loot items across 20 people and a heap of conduit upgrades. There was even harsh words spoken about this in discord about the lack of loot.

As I said before, more effort then reward.

We have valor now it’s really not that bad…but I got the point in the OP…feelsbad

I have had this BS 220 weapon since the first month of this dang expansion and have run many mythic 15s in season 1 and run the SOD raid plenty of times for a weapon not to EFFING drop!! This space is complete BS and the only reason I am playing now is because of old content and my guildies. I enjoy playing with my guildies but F this endless grind of everything for nothing rewarding to look forward too. WTF do hunters get screwed and have most of are BIS drop from last two bosses and that damn Lego bow??? Screw you the time it drops for me, it will be 2 xpacs from now if I am still playing this BS game. The reason I haven’t quit is because I played this for 15 years and have friends that keep me playing but not sure how much longer that will be enough to put up with these greedy dumb F devs.
Edit: I also grinned pvp 3v3 to get a 1800 rating for better gear in season 1 and still got dick from vault. This RNG is the worst its ever been. I had an easier time getting the tusks of mannaroth for my warrior than getting any gear this xpac. If it wasn’t for my guildies not needing loot when we raid I wouldn’t get squat.

Conduit upgrades don’t cost a loot slot. You still get 4 loot per boss, even if 20 conduits drop. If you got less, that’s a bug and should be reported. 1 drop per 5 people is the rule.
