Doesn’t mean you know how to play the dungeon.
You know what most of us do in classic to solve this? We joined guilds. You also only had a small pool of players to draw from and not randos that you will never see again.
To be fair, even without IO, youve got your profile hidden, so we couldnt see your progression regardless.
Yes but only in weekly chest. You can 3,4 or more pieces in a single raid. And then you still get a piece from weekly chest for raiding alone.
Because when looking for groups they have in their descriptions “Checking Raider IO”
And you will also probably die to mechanics or fail them. Ilvl is not indicative of skill or game knowledge which is why this system needs to exist.
If you want to know why this exists, go do your own key and invite all the randoms based on their item level or their “personality”. And have fun being capped at a 7.
They are checking the add-on which auto populates next to your name as they hover over your sign up. Which is updated via the main website
This right here is one of the biggest reasons for things like raider IO, the ranking of players based off of some number did not really take off to an extreme until the end of Wrath when dungeon finders became a thing. When the flood gates opened and you could end up grouped with anyone, the need to be able to quickly vet people took off. IE when gearscore became popular. Prior to that the judgement of a player was normally based off the guild. “Oh damn they are in xyz guild, they are working on Prof. they have good players we will take them.”
Link me said item? That is fine also. It still is way more trouble than it is. and once it starts slowing down group making. People will just take the risk instead of doing it.
Time and time again that proves to be the case. The convenience of raider io takes a ton of the risks out of making pug groups.
We won’t see eye to eye on this. Doing tougher content should be about building a social network through friends or guilds. Not through a pug system, and if you pick to do pugs. It should have some very big risks of failure.
With raider Io the convenience is too strong.
By far the best way to do high level M+ groups is with friends and guildies. Not even raider,io can definitively tell you if any particular person is going to be effective in your group, so personal experience with each member in the past can’t be beat.
Even if you do recruit for high level M+ or raids in the lfg tool, you will very quickly get so many applicant that you’ll be forced to reject almost all qualified players simply because you only have so many spots available, not because of raider,io.
Simply put, there is no substitute for having friends if you actually want to push this content. Shifting the focus of a MMO away from guilds and friends, and towards groups full of random strangers who will never talk to each other again, will destroy the community much more effectively than having trouble pugging M+15s or mythic raids.
That’s not even my fault haha, I faction changed recently and the website hasn’t reflected that yet.
Sure, and if you kill 10 raid bosses & 10 +15s, that’s 6 chances to get the mythic piece you need every week. My point stands, plenty of people will still be doing M+. And even when they are kitted out in BiS, they will still be running it to help their guildies and friends fill out their vaults too. Not to mention the vault will probably also contain cosmetics and other unique rewards once people have full BiS.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that people pushing high keys will not “Take the risk” They will simply just not do the mythic and wait for someone thats better. Like tahts not even an opinion on the matter thats a fact.
Except as i have said, there will still be a way to do it, Gear score came out long before raider IO. and before that it was, link me your achivments, which takes no time as all, and is just as quick as a raider IO look up. It wont solve the problem because its not a problem, its just the way the game works now.
How are they supposed to know you are capable of that? And your raiderio doesn’t exist for this character. I’ve had people who have only timed +11s apply to my +19 and guess what I’d have to be brain damaged to accept them and I’m glad I could see that information from raiderio.
The point of pugging is to not have to be in a guild and to have the option for everything to be available at any time. Don’t want to raid with your guild? Can do it at a random time with pugs.
I’m not trying to make friends, I am trying to time a key.
Guilds are a form of community. Making friends with people is a form of community. If you join a guild and/or make friends with people they won’t care about your IO.
Don’t blame raiderio because you are not using the community by joining a guild and making friends. Your refusal to make friends within the community is ruining the community.
Honestly, I just wanted to know what spec you were playing, and didn’t think of the progression until after the fact.
What was your previous name? If you changed it.
Yes, because a number that is stored off site tells you SO much about that person too. They could have hacked it. They could have been carried. They could be the worst person in the world who drops group after it starts because they don’t like what someone has equipped.
I am sure many of you have ran into bad group members even if they do have these high scores.
I hear ya. I think the people just doing one weekly mythic are gonna hurt though. Only a 20% chance for any loot at the end of the dungeon. I dont know you may be right. Will have to see.
You are unproven, You are an unknown, Please do tell me why i would bring someone who doesn’t have a score that tells me they know the content over people that have scores that say they know the content?
It’s my group, It’s my rules, It’s my setup if you don’t like raider.io you are more then welcome to not use it and form your own groups, No-ones holding a gun to your head but once you get what is essentially 4 people from Ragnaros/sargeras with 200 in your +15 and wiping constantly on trash, You’ll see it from my point and stop complaining.
