Raider IO is Destroying the Community

Hot take, Raider IO helps more than it hurts

Life hack, work your way up from the bottom and you won’t struggle with getting into groups

Is it bad that I get excited for these threads and all the drama that ensues from them?

My fix for the issue.

Armory and achievements can only be checked by guild mates.

Now picture how much this game would change.

This right here. Don’t want to worry about IO, run with a guild or friends. I can say no more cause I only bring the popcorn to these silly threads.

Start your own group. Add people you like to your friends list. Be social.

It wouldnt. Because people will still find a way to judge you as a player. What you suggested does not fix anything.

Armory did not exist in classic yet people still found a way to judge you as a player based on you linking an tiem that was from the raid to show you did it, or what guild you were in.

Hey!! Dont call yourself stupid! *slap on the hand.

NO. . I hate it. It’s gearscore 2.0. . It creates a toxic player base that penalizes those who dont have as much time or do not know or want to run an addon.

So a server nobodies heard of or cares about?

You’re right it doesn’t. Learn the dungeon and your class.

Last time I checked you wouldn’t get invited to a pug raid without the achievement unless you started your own group. Do you remember going to the stormwind bank for inspection? Riight…you don’t.

So by now you’d think you’d have gotten used to it or learned to accept it…maybe adapt? Crazy thinking here.

If this was honestly true then you wouldn’t be sitting here complaining. Next.

your very kind <3

Oh really? How would you see if a player has achievements? The only way you can judge players is base off item level that is it.

And classic you had much bigger risk of getting a bad pug. It is not about judging players, it is about needing to be social to get better groups, instead of adding addons that helps take some of the risks out of it.

We will always judge each other sure, but not being able to see if someone done something before? That would change the pug scene in a huge way.

Shadow the truth is the wow community outside of guilds very seldom cares about the well-being of strangers. My suggestion is the obvious one, find a guild. Outside of a guild its just not conducive for player growth. I am a gm and we take time to invest in people at all ilvls, and involve them in raiding as well. If people are active with us we also work with people off server.

Even if the developers made the addon unusable, because players will not stop using it, people will still continue to require AOTC and other achievements long before they are actually feasible to obtain outside of an active raiding guild. This form of group gating in some form or another will continue to persist.

Again, it would just go back to, “Link me your x item to prove you killed this. oh you dont have one ok im passing up.”

It does not solve the problem, because the “problem” is just part of the game, And then as you said, it would just go to ilvl, players would take you based off your ilvl, and guess what, we already went through that system as well called gearscore back in ICC, and people pissed and moaned about it all through ICC as well. Did not meet a gear score requirement? Passed up, did not matter if you had done it or not and just got unlucky with drops, groups would absolutely just pass you by.

No it isn’t.

You’re not entitled to a spot in someone else’s party.

Without being able to look at your profile one of a few things probably stood out-

1: You’re playing a very popular class and spec. I don’t know what it’s like now but when I stopped playing at the start of BfA death knights were best-in-class for tanking and DPS.

2: You’re passing up on very easy ways to improve your character like ensuring gem slots are utilized and you at least have the cheapie enchantments.

3: At any given time you’re one of ten people signing up to the same party.

You’re paranoid, it’s probably got nothing to do with Raider .io, there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from simply forming your own groups.

How do you know that you aren’t finding groups because of raiderio. Are people telling you this?

Make a group as a healer or a tank. Depending on when you do it, you can have multiple dps apply within minutes. Way more than the three needed to form a group. How do people decide who to bring when they have nothing but ilevel, name, and class?

You realize completing ten +15s will still get you three shots at mythic raid level loot each week right? M+ isn’t going anywhere.

I would deny you as well I have zero clue what you have done and depending on the key level and affixes. That you may or may not know about you could ruin the key. Which in turn makes thirty minutes of four other players who know the fights upset. End of the day if you want to be selected in this day in age for dungeons etc. Start small run m0 first then do all the dungeons on m2-6 as that is only one affix. Then by then you will have a decent enough score to be invited to 7-9 as that’s adding a second affix. But you get the idea
