how would an official baked in system do that though?
someone has either done dungeons or not.
I totally get that it can be hard to break into m+ mid-season. I’m not sure though, that blizz making their own version of io is going to change that.

I would be all for a system that makes raiding and PvP more accessible to latecomers. I think giving everyone as equal of a chance as possible to get involved with content is a good thing. I was just talking about M+ in particular because that’s what this thread is about.
They’re not bad. But if you want some serious forum entertainment you definitely gotta go for a multiboxer or high elf thread. Or you could go full goober and just post literally anything about Trump/Asmonbald.
The problem is that it’s not reality. The community does not care if you’re late and trying to catch up. If you don’t have the credentials to get in groups, regardless of it being a system made by players or Blizzard, you aren’t getting in. It’s how the player base has operated for multiple expansions now.
Why, I think he’s an entertaining HS streamer.
Will it convert at that low of an item level? I thought it had to be a certain ILVL to turn In to the residium.
I just hope the next expansion offers something that keeps heroic dungeons relevant.
Something like the legendary drops in legion. I remember spamming heroics farming for them.
That’s what was missing from BFA. All legion content was worth doing. It all had a chance to drop high end gear.
I haven’t salvaged any low ilvl in a long while but as far as I know, only items you had in a previous season didn’t give residuum, to prevent hoarding.
I’m not home to test it right now.
I think 445 gives 20? 460 is 80 and 480 is 200. I can’t imagine what 415 gives but it can’t be more than a few.
415 doesn’t give any.
Sounds like you need to join a guild. Without some kind of number system, how are strangers supposed to know if you can handle it? It isn’t perfect but it is better than nothing.
Most guilds don’t have any real requirements on their members. It is much easier to find groups for stuff through guild chat. Once you get a reputation in your guild, people will know that you know what you are doing.
But from your history, you probably know all this.
Personally, imo even if they somehow managed to Destroyer raider io, The community will find another way. You will always be judged before entering.
It’s why I personally haven’t really made any efforts at all this expansion, and I’m fine with it.
World of Warcraft isn’t my main game anymore so I don’t expect to be able to keep up.
I am sure the community will, and Blizzard can take the steps needed to stop it.
My point is that just because the community will find a way does not mean we got to make it easy for them to do it. If the way they do it is super tedious. Most of the community won’t do it.
Ah yes I will gladly do it. Oh wait, look at how this community is? Hardly anyone talks in pugs.
The game design makes it where players don’t need to. I want Blizzard to FORCE the community to have to do it.
YOU are part of the problem.
I talk in dungeons, raids, general chat, etc. etc. all the time.
YOU are the problem. Notice how I didn’t say “part of” the problem. Because YOU are 100% the problem. Stop being an entitled victim and take ownership of your own actions.
I think your under estimating them.
If they find a overly complicated way to do it, someone will come out with an ad on to make it simple.
In fact I’m pretty sure that’s exactly how and why raider io came into existence.
Some players just do not play well period. I see just as many high io players refusing to interrupt and kill orbs as low players. Other day had a demon hunter in a 12 FH. Bursting affix mind you. He pull all the trash at the entrance then cussed out dps for now being able to kill it all fast enough. Rage quit. 2k io player btw
Only bad players complain about RaiderIO.
The thing is the raider io system was made just to make things simpler faster and easier to do it.
If only guild mates could see your achievements and armory. The lack of info on each other would make it very hard for the community to come up with a system that is not just item level base.
That would put more risk back into pugs, and in return get more people to start building a social network for decent groups instead of a system that we made.

Just because you do it does not mean everyone else does. You are wasting your time because the game does not require you to build a network to do tough content. So ya, you are still part of the problem. I’m not being a victim at all. I’m just giving my two cents on why this game is bad. Why the community is bad, and ways to make it better. You don’t like it, and throw a hissy fit.
While you are probably correct, I don’t see blizzard ever hiding armories and achievements.
Or people could just ask you to link stuff, which people have been doing since the beginning of wow.
I like how anyone new to M+ is just entitled and wants a carry.
This community is probably the worst MMO community.
The constant whining and crying about anything, pushback on every new feature that isn’t collect purple and log out, bullying and gatekeeping returning or new players.
Major cancer.

When I was in elementary school, there was this bully. We never let the bully play with us. One day, the bully’s mom came up to us on the playground and told us we had to let her son play with us.
“No one will talk to me because the game doesn’t force them to.” That’s being a victim. If you want people to talk to you, start a conversation. Ask a random question: What’s your favorite pizza topping? Have you seen ____ show? Anything. That’s how you make friends in real life and in game. By being genuinely interested in people.
