Raider IO is Destroying the Community

Can’t you still do that?

Raider IO becomes a problem the further into a patch we get. People that join partway through a patch start at a disadvantage that just gets worse the later they join, and in a lot of cases it becomes incredibly difficult to get into M+ if you’ve joined in partway or late into a patch just because at that point most people are only accepting high IO people.

There’s literally nothing to gain from normal or heroic dungeons anymore. They’re completely obsolete.

So the same thing that happens in Raid and PvP…

I meant whatever content you wanna do.

Yes, the same thing that happens with raiding and PvP. Except with M+, it’s a third party source that’s driving the difficulty instead of the game itself.

Love this logic. You have no problem choosing not to group with people because of any reason you want but if we don’t want to group with you for any reason we want its a problem all of a sudden.

After the first tier they always are.

No it’s the same. AotC and having a 2k achievement shows you have experience. Having a good IO score shows experience. It’s the same.

It’s similar but not quite the same. AotC and arena title achievements are in-game proof of experience that’s entirely first-party, handled solely within the game itself. Raider IO is not a built-in system - It’s a third party source that exports it’s data to an addon.

I mean yeah you can but why wouldn’t you just push him through low M+ with an armor stack at that point. I mean like a currency. Like titan residium from heroic dungeons. Something small like 20 for each one.

Because the info doesn’t exist in game

FYI it is not a 3rd party source. It gets the data straight from the Blizzard armory API.

Which is why it’s different. Raider IO is a third party, unofficial system that was created without any design or input from the actual developers of the game, whereas AotC and arena title achievements were direct developer work.

It’s a third party source that, yes, takes data from the Blizzard armory API, but decides on it’s own how that data is handled, without any input or design from the actual developers.

Heroic dungeon are highly spammable though, even if it’s a low amount, since there’s no limit to how many you can do. One dedicated group could get 475 gear from spamming queueable content.

Beside, can’t you already get residuum from heroic dungeons if you salvage azerite trait armor?

Repackaging data doesn’t change the source… It is still coming from the Armory API.

So solely because it’s not from the developers it’s a problem? In all honesty I think that’s a pretty weak argument. All Raider IO does is display the experience you have in M+. If you have an abysmal score I wouldn’t invite you to high keys. It’s as simple as that

I would much prefer an official built-in system that would make things easier for people joining partway through a patch. Raider IO has shown no indication that they intend to make any changes to make things easier for those people, which is a problem, in my opinion.

Ah yes I will gladly do it. Oh wait, look at how this community is? Hardly anyone talks in pugs.

The game design makes it where players don’t need to. I want Blizzard to FORCE the community to have to do it.

YOU are part of the problem.

Well then you should express that same concern to the built in systems that Blizzard has for Raiding and PvP as well.
