Yours might be my favorite character I’ve ever seen
I’m going to stop you right there. Are you trying to get in as dps or tank?
He was trying to get in having only timed a 9. Which makes him unlikely to get in as he only has 2 timed 10s showing and neither is a waycrest manor. Looks like dps from his armory. He doesn’t have blood set up.
Well, yea, in that case he should probably get used to being declined. He chose the most common role in the game.
They can, and are, simultaneously true.
IO provides info to make the best informed choice, but you don’t really need to use it to screen for low level or completion only runs.
I mean, next thing you’ll get is a ‘Character resume Addon’ listing your previous success and how you have contributed to past dungeons, why you want to join current M+/Raid and what makes you believe y are up to the task.
If you have no past experience cause you are a fresh max level, good luck finding a job… err i mean a group.
Welcome to World of Warcraft.
Lol, Sarama. I get that we are dealing with people of all different levels of intellectual ability on the forum … but seriously, you don’t see what you did there?
Raider io matters for picking people for groups but you don’t need to do it (as long as you are doing level or runs that won’t complete … so then ya, it matters and will affect casuals ability to get into groups … lol, except those groups that aren’t doing challenging content . … EUREKA, ya, that’s the point).
Well I can tell where yours is if you can’t understand the difference between need to use and want to use.
Over exaggeration much?
Look. You are obviously a competent player having timed all +15s. So why don’t you go list a +15 and do it with raiderio disabled. Then come back and say the same thing.
apparently you don’t realize that the dungeons are more than your dps, especially at higher keys and with some of the affixes. That tells me RIO is working in your case.
no one thinks this
Bakkian - I am not arguing against raider io. I understand people’s frustration with it, but puggin challenging content with players chosen purely at random is even worse.
I am here to say that the M+ loot nerfs make problems casuals have with io even worse, because its gonna be that much harder to get into groups and build your io when your ilvl will quickly fall behind raiders because of the way io works … at teh start, little differences are used to choose group members … but those little differences then lead to advanateges in the amount of M+ content you can do which build up both your gear and io … leading to a progressively bigger advantage.
this interaction between the M+ loot nerf and the way io works will kill the game for the subset of players I belong to … competent players who play at irregular times that preclude raiding. I’m not going to be able to progress in any enjoyable way in M+ in SL because the difference between me and a comparable player who raids will start out small but grow quickly enough that I’ll be locked out of forming or running challenging M+ content.
Io or something like it is here to stay. But its impact needs to be considered when other changes are made.
Im not sure how to take that… in what spirit is your comment made to be taken?
No lines to be read between. I absolutely love your character.
I’m stuck on this panda I despise because there’s just too much in game buffs to pass up
You don’t need the addon. In fact you don’t need to do anything they can just look you up and spend the extra 5 seconds to do so.
Also I’ve never really had people under 15 ever care what my score was. I’ve only had over 15 really care, and i’ve done very few of those because there isn’t any point in it except well, to boost your raider IO score further so your score does matter.
Btw, 466 is low ilevel. I’d say Raider IO is actually better for people like you - if you get your score up you’ll be invited to a group even with that low of ilvl! If raider IO did not exist, you’d be declined for such a low level and “ilvl” would be the only defining feature.
Guess how you get highest ilvl? Mythic raid. Don’t have a guild do it? Well then kiss all your invites goodbye without Raider IO.
Raider IO isn’t as toxic as you think it is.
Your problem, outside of only having a +5 and +7 done is prob that you’re a priest. No one wants those for M+ and that’s a blizzard problem.
I use to hate Raider IO as well. Because I had the iLvl and the skill I just wasn’t huge on Mythics until recently. So I began pushing my own keys, got the addon got the client and got my score up to 500 pretty quickly. Still I kinda hated IO until I did my Siege +9 key an hour or so ago. I checked IO but decided to be fair and took two DPS on their ilvl and not their IO which was below 300 with no Siege being completed. Guess what happened? We did not make the timer because they did not know any of the boss mechanics and didn’t even know how to deal with Sang Affix! Now I see the usefulness of IO.
you are correct to a degree… I am proof of that. all my 15+ have been carries. but usually IO is a good indicator of your knowledge of the instances. actually, anyone who looked at mine could probably figure out I was carried through my 15+ keys by seeeing that there are two dungeons i’ve never completed a key for, and the 15+s I’ve done are all with the same general group, while the lower ones are with a different group of the same general people.
If you don’t like that others are declining you there’s always the option to make your own group.
and as some one else said, 466 this late in the game isn’t impressive. most people who do the minimum each week have that or higher, barring being unlucky with the chest of disappointment.
you aren’t the first to complain about this, and you won’tbe the last. but nothing is going to change it until the next new system comes along.
So to be clear, you think they should just take the highest ilvl person every time? So the mythic raiders ALWAYS get invites?
