Raider IO is Destroying the Community

I think given your negative opinion on raiderio you are talking about people who support the system. And I don’t need to find an alternative with the current system.

The game already does lol, the other guy is jsut telling me to not use raiderio and only find people to play with for the social aspect.

If you personally, as your own self, have no issue with Raider iO and have no troubles getting into parties, then this is null and void to you. I’m speaking about those that state their woes with Raider iO. This is a carbon-copy of many threads about Raider iO. Joining a like-minded group/guild is truly a way to avoid all confrontation with Raider iO if you somehow just cannot do any dungeons or get picked to go.

Which you also aren’t when in a guild.

No one cares about your RIO below a ten, there is so much leg room to learn and get into the swing before ever being affected by this addon.

Ok, but that doesn’t mean we should prevent people from knowing you are a casual so they can’t avoid you.

I don’t think this would impact their decision one bit.

It doesn’t, it would help if you had a lot of experience with the dungeon and affixes.

You don’t need to have the addon installed, you are being denied because you don’t do many dungeons.

Gear score was just your item level, which is now implemented into the game baseline. Raider io tracks how experienced you are in doing dungeon content.

“Can you please prevent players from easily sharing their progress so they don’t know who they should prioritize or avoid?” No, if people don’t want to group up with you it is not everyone else’s fault. making it harder to share relevant information would just lead to frustration and toxicity.

Its not a matter of dps or interrupts. The dungeons have a lot of mechanics and some of them change on a weekly basis. If you are such a good player I’m sure you can do some dungeons and increase your io with no problem.

Man, i cant wait until people also get declined for their covenant choice.

incorrect, When you are in a guild you represent that guild, It may be lesser now compared to back in the day but the main reason for a forum alt is because you weren’t allowed to draw attention to your guild because it could be negative.

When wearing someone elses brand like a guild you represent EVERYONE there including yourself and as such you have to tread a certain line and tow a certain behavour.

When you aren’t in a guild you aren’t forced to deal with those arbritary rules and ‘social’ guide lines, you can choose to be a total douche or not be a douche, you can choose to boot pugs and make rules under your own banner or not.

You can get into arguments publicly on the forums and not have to worry if it will somehow rustle an officers jimmies.

There are still plenty of raiding guilds out there that do not want you posting on forums on your main that is in the guild due to the aforementioned representation.

You keep talking about “arbitrary”.

I believe this deserves a:

P.S. I have been in a raiding guild for a decade before they all stopped playing. We never had the issues you seem to think guilds have.

So if I’m reading this right, the “arbitrary” guild rules you hate are “exercise basic social skills”?

I’d argue LFG ruined the community. Raider IO has actually made mythic+ pugging fair.

Ya, I laboriously installed io since I run 14 toons and needed to prove I 'Knew mechanics" but it’s not helping with either making groups or joining groups. I deleted the io account, disabled their ability to see into my profile, etc. I wasn’t able to get H Vex, Ilg or Xanesh down with io help, ANYWAY. It’s great how the very crappiness of this game is weaning me off my addiction to playing it.

damn you’re telling me you installed IO and then did 0 work trying to upgrade your score and got mad that strangers didn’t just trust you to not be a huge noob? I can’t believe they didn’t just trust you with the key they have earned! wow!

Ew Ascendance. I used to be in that guild. It was filled with jerks. I didn’t install io for M+ - I am completely uninterested in doing M+. I installed it for H Nya. The fact that this game requires you to do M+ is what’s made me sick of it. When you have 14 toons you don’t want to spend it all swapping essences, talents and azerite all the time to suit bg, dungeon, raid, etc…

This is true but when building io score sometimes you need specific dungeons at specific levels, and you can’t always rely on RNG to give you the right key, so eventually you will need to outsource and join a group.

The community is destroying the community.

So run your own key, prove you are good, make friends with people who run your key with you, then run their keys if you need em.

Not as easy as you think. I grinded to 3792 io and still haven’t found a full team to run with. Just one or two people.

EDIT: Though this may be at the fault of schedule conflicts than anything else.

You clearly havn’t been around to see guilds that say what you can and can’t do, Or maybe you just got lucky, But i’ll go fetch the guild rules list for the last guild i was in wich was firelands-dragonsoul

  • As a representative of this guild you cannot post in any threads on the forum while on a character wearing our guild name, As this could be taken in a negative light and as such we don’t want that potentially associated with our guild.

  • You must refrain from talking in trade chat or in public channels as anything said that may be taken in a negative way will result in removal from the guild.

  • You must not partake in any action in-game that may get ourselves negatively associated on our realm forums, This included but not limited to pug runs, Pvp combat such as ganking, Usage of PVP items in leveling /major content area’s.

That was literally in the middle of our guild charter at the time

this was Sinful on Wyrmrest Accord back in the day this was the realms best raiding guild for a while until it collapsed in on itself.

I haven’t pugged an M+ in 3 years. It’s an MMO, make friends.
