Not sure what that has to do with anything since addons like this didn’t become a thing until WotLK. But I’m sure you knew that
Can’t hear you over your archaic mindset, Sorry.
He had to make a different good argument because when you say push your own key to the people like the one he was responding to they just sputter and say “but low raiderio score”.
LFG and LFR did not kill the social element. Group Finder did more so than both of them tools.
Don’t get me wrong. I am OK with group finder. As before it took much longer. But the impact that it had over the social element of the game, was much much bigger than both LFG and LFR had. Because Group Finder has its own meta.
Thank you for proving my point.
Really the only way to avoid any confrontation with Raider iO is to have friends to run with, and/or a guild to run with. I find that the end-all know-all.
And, personally, I too am not a fan of Raider iO.
People pug heroic and mythic, but honestly? That’s not an LFR or LFD issue (as it doesn’t work for that). That’s a 'Guilds have no reason to join or benefits issue" that happened when blizz gutted the guild tools awhile back and then again when communities came out. There are in fact really good RP things Blizz could add to the game (guildhalls) that they have thusfar declined. So right now all a guild gets you is bank storage and a quick chat channel really. That didn’t use to be the case, there were one once serious benefits (recipes, mounts, etc.) tied to being in a guild and guild achievements.
This is very contradictory. Because group finder requires more interaction with players than LFR or LFG.
I don’t want to hear anything anymore about a “loss of community” when the io lovers are gleefully perpetuating its decline.
- implying we didn’t just vendor everything after the first month
- its only 3 ilvls
- our upgrades came from weekly chests just like it will in shadowlands
In what way? For wanting competent players to form groups with?
Bakkian - you are a liar. In your own post you say your score is entirely from puggin and then talk about running keys with your guildies. And you’ve been raiding regularly and the current BFA system for M+ is not the problem.
Its a problem when all those 3 things are gone. If you are a casual and aren’t running with a guild. If you aren’t a raider. and now with the big nerf to M+ fear lvls … casual M+ players are screwed out of playing … because you aren’t going to get into content … you can;t run your own keys because, unless you have a desirable key, people don’t join groups with people with low io scores anymore than they let them join their groups.
You are not doing harder content with LFG and LFR. Group finder you are.
Group finder with raider io and systems we have in place pretty much turned the harder content into LFG and LFR but better. The limits of LFG and lFR is that super easy content and worse gear.
Group Finder changes that.
It gets you a chat channel and then a social form that you have to apply to and be nice because your basicly representing everyone so if you want to chill with your friends and any of you are slightly off par maybe not politicly correct or do anything that might offend someone who is 80 years old, Or a Karen you get to deal with guild drama
The other thing that comes with guilds? cliques, Cliques suck, accidentally rub one person who is in a clique the wrong way? WELP YOUR BASICLY INTERNET HITLER.
Guilds are baggage, Baggage that is often not worth carrying around.
Which is fine because it is a tool for pugs. People like you who have social connections that allow you to do these dungeons/raids are fine without it, the rest of us aren’t.
Then you are the exception to the rule and I commend you.
In the way no one wants to talk to others or give them a chance.
People often blame things like LFR for “destroying the community” when in reality it’s things like raiderio.
Its easier because you are able to find more skilled players to play with. Not because the content is easier but because you aren’t handicapped playing with people who have no idea what they are doing.
Because puging like this did not become a thing until late WotLK, but I’m sure you knew that.
It really sounds like you want to kill off pugs and go back to a guild focused time where you were either in a guild or you missed out on most of the game. Like I said Classic is over there ------------------>
looks at thread… looks back yeah that’s not just a guilds things… cliques are a human thing.
