Raid vs Mythic+ loot tables

Not quite sure how the vault equates to using bonus rolls to target specific bosses. When you’re doing a full clear there doesn’t seem to be a guarantee that the vault will have loot from the boss you want. The vault is an interesting idea and most certainly seems to be stronger than the weekly chest but it certainly does not match what bonus rolls specifically allow for.

Yeah so why is the item level of the last 2 endbosses once again 7 ilvl higher than any other gear in the game?

I’d argue that high rated pvp and high end keys are a lot harder than this especially over the duration of the season

And they also said there will not be duplicates.

Right now in Shadowlands there are 8 rings from dungeons.

All 6 secondary stat combos are available (as opposed to only 3 from the raid) and 2 combos have 2 rings.

Bonus rolling allows us to target specific bosses for extra chances. How will the Great Vault capture that value?

They can proc gem slots, but there’s apparently going to be a mechanic to add sockets to existing gear.

Would be nice, if they did similar for the other tertiaries.

I’m a lazy boi, can you translate that into what percentage of the potential items are rings? I can give an exact number for 3 chests with that.

For M+, the level of key that would equal that difficulty is likely beyond their range of what they balance for.

For PvP they could add some pieces to be 7 ilvls higher but it wouldn’t make sense for all of them to be because you can’t get every slot with that higher ilvl anyways in raid.

Rip mythic+ in shadowlands, absolutely no awards for high keys, no procs and low ilvl. It was a good game.

I don’t think they accidentally announced item level changes to M+ right there. A +7 keystone rewards item level 200 gear from the chest at the end of the dungeon, and you will receive a single piece of item level 213 gear from the Great Vault. More dungeons just gives you more choices of what that single piece of item level 213 gear might be.

The 3 item level difference is targeted at slowing down gearing for Mythic raiders, although Blizzard might not actually want to go out and admit it. What you used to be able to do was run a bunch of M+ before the raid, get gear equivalent to heroic raid gear, and then trade any gear you got in the heroic raid to other players since you already had gear of an equivalent item level. Making M+ gear 3 item levels lower means that is now impossible to trade gear that way.

This sort of gear trading only really mattered for the first week or two of Mythic raid progression, mostly in World First or very high HoF guilds.

If random bgs and epic bgs are not included in this progression system, then pvp will die in a month. You learned nothing from Classic.

What in the world are you talking about? The weekly chest reward is same ilvl. For anyone after mythic raid ilvl M+ gear the dungeon chests at the end are worthless anyways.

Totally agree here. Taking bonus rolls away hurts worst when you have a boss like Ra-den that has 3 BiS items vs. a boss like Vexiona which has zero (in my specific case). I can plan to burn bonus rolls on Ra-den every week.

I mean they could just turn off loot sharing for the first couple months. Ding! Problem solved.

No, no. Instead, ALL non mythic raiders must be punished! No one else is worthy of decent rewards for their time!

Lmao doomsayers to this change don’t understand math. this is kind of funny to watch tbh.

Is mastery/vers the one I can get two of? I need my mastery/vers.

No one said anything about duplicates. 2 rings are 2 different items.

It hurts people that mostly want to do Mythic+ like me, too. I don’t especially want to do Heroic or Mythic raids. I already kind of need to do Mythic raids to quickly get useful 226 gear, but now your run of the mill M+ gear is just that much worse.

They are going to eventually address the 3 ilvl difference either confirming it or saying it’s unintended at some point. They have not strayed away from any controversial subjects and this one I don’t see them doing so either. Especially since I don’t think in practice thd ilvl difference matters much. Especially if going for mythic ilvl,

It’s certainly nothing compared to trying to sell people on covenants.

Hopefully some explanation comes through for the comment about a mythic +15 offering 3 choices.

This is not accurate as far as I know.
You have to run multiple 14 or 15 keys to get choices in that item level bracket.

Explain the ability to run “a” dungeon granting these choices please, thanks.
