PVE gear requirement is not that different in Wrath compared to TBC. The same classes that wore mostly PVP gear in TBC still do in Wrath and the same goes for ones that run heavy PVE gear. Now as someone who loves WOW pvp and doesn’t have the time to raid, I wish I didn’t need any pieces at all, and unfortunately to play even as a warlcok at a decently high level next season I probably will need the trinkets so I’m probably quitting til Cata.
The bigger problem with Wrath is that it is way too overtuned and bursty for the unexperienced player and that there’s rating locked gear which has no pve incentive to obtain. The good classes simultaneously do way too much damage and are way too hard to kill.
For example, imagine being a noob pvp’er and you come across a warrior with half a brain in a BG. This guy’s got two charges, shield wall, reck, retal, bladestorm, multiple interrupts and if that fails he’s got overpower procs which give 75% ms, and crazy buffed bleed damage. You’re gonna get owned. There’s not much counterplay to that if you don’t already have the knowledge, and even if you do, it’s an uphill battle as most classes vs. a toolkit like that. TBC and classic gameplay were much, much simpler to understand and thus accessible.
Rofl. Again, this sounds like someone who doesn’t and hasn’t actually played retail for some time.
I didn’t say the same thing you did at all. I explained how the mechanics actually work in retail arena, while you tried to reduce things down to “cooldown trading” as a form of misinformation. Hate to break it to you, but Wrath also has cooldown trading. Vanilla had cooldown trading. WoW PvP combat has never lacked it. Retail just has the best and most comprehensive version of it, specifically in that it exists in the realm of active damage and defense instead of being relatively more reserved for utility.
The other end of the spectrum from complete cooldown stacking/granularization is statchecking. X beats Y and how they play matters as close to 0 as possible. The more moving parts that exist the more the game resembles something that is actually competitive because there is an actual burden of execution.
It really isn’t. It’s a strictly better version of the same game. The only objective reasons to play Wrath over retail, arena-wise, is if you want an easier game or you want to indulge in nostalgia.
Oh I do. I also play Wrath arena for the sake of a friend. That’s how I know so very well precisely how they are the same and how they are different.
1600 wotlk havinass knows precisely how everything works. Look man, everything you’ve said about both versions is wrong. Yes, I jumped to the point and summed up what you said. Want me to find links for you to watch all the R1 players I listed say the same thing ive said here or can you manage yourself?
Retail melee have infinite mobility, casters dont kite they tank, whole game is upside down terrible. You are clueless.
When it comes to this topic yes, I do. I don’t know if it’s sadder that you think I care about my Wrath rating after reading this thread, or that you’re lying about knowing it and using some random rating as a generic insult.
No, what you did is closer to lying. Your lies are born of ignorance and stupidity so I was kind and simply called them misinformation.
Please, do go ahead and find these one-off clips from entertainers who have been playing the game since the start, whose glory days are the expansions Classic is retreading, and who are just as susceptible to being nostalgia junkies as anyone. Your argument will be soundly proven, I’m certain.
Kiting still happens; it just happens in bursts. Took them a minute to catch casters up, but with Precognition the game is in a much better state than it ever was previously. Now both melee and casters get to play the game by default, as opposed to years and years of an arms race between Frost and Arms and all the other specs finding their place in the rubble or not.
I am quite literally the opposite of clueless. I have a better understanding of how both iterations of the game work, design-wise, than you ever will, and I have more experience with them as a collective. You are the one speaking from a place of ignorance.
There’s is a significant amount of players scripting in arena, multiple of which constantly take R1 spots. These players advertise and sell it themselves. It is not nearly as rare as you think it is.
You don’t know what this word means you’ve used it incorrectly like 8x. The game is in the present and it is judged without nostalgia because we can compare it to retail right now. & no im sure you know better than multi R1 people who play for a job.
You should. It is the qualifier for you to understand the topic. Which you clearly don’t, you low rated rat lmfao. You are very dramatic with everything you’ve said and honestly I don’t want you having a hernia trying to explain something you are absolutely clueless on. Sleep it off if need be.
Yeah, like I said, at the top ratings it happens. Its not even an issue to be aware of for 99% of the population yet they use it as a reason they can’t climb or why they quit lol.
Same as the rated pvp gear inequality, literally unimportant next to knowledge. They lose because they don’t know anything and refuse to improve, would rather blame it on everything else. Pve gear makes a huge diff for some classes, like OP stated. PvP gear, stuck @1600 for example, is missing like 3 items and has to use furious. OH NO. World is ending, im hardstuck cause of rating requirements lmfao
They are out there for sure. never had your mas dispell kicked 10 times in a row at 0.1 remaining by that Kinkydk guy? Then they win and his partner gets a “Just the two of us 1550” achieve at 2300 mmr
or those Politepvper Honestpvper guys in 3s season 5. all 3 had a bot but they could only set it on one person each. I dont even think they got glad even with triple bots
Its rare at casual ratings but still a problem
here are two examples of warr and sham bots on live wrath classic. Let me know if this link doesnt work im kind of a noob
A re-release doesn’t stop being fueled by nostalgia once it’s out. And no, we cannot compare it to retail right now. I can. You cannot.
Knowing how to play a game doesn’t mean someone knows anything about what constitutes good design.
No it’s not. I don’t need to play at Gladiator ratings in Wrath to understand its design, lol. Similarly, you don’t need to play at my level in retail to understand its design. You do need to play it though, which you don’t.
Rofl. Continuing to ego out over the Fisher Price version of the game remains a bad look.
I feel like a lot of people have mentioned it. Anyway, I suppose that there is some pretty nice gear available from PVE, but having BiS PVE gear isn’t going to suddenly make you amazing at PVP, and I feel that it’s pretty rare to lose while having BiS PVP gear due to not having any PVE gear.
You are a moron. What am I gatekeeping? Care to explain that one?
“Improve yourself, research your comp, practice” is all ive said to do instead of crying about the last 3 pvp items new players cant reach rating for. Did none of you clowns have dads? That gear will not help them. Nothing youve said will help anyone or the state of the game.
Players are good at identifying problems, not solutions. I imagine Blizzard has a number of players from various backgrounds that they take feedback from specifically. Said players, including the high ranked ones, aren’t designing the game; they’re just contributing to a tapestry of feedback that Blizzard uses to do the actual balancing and design.
You need to calm down and breathe before you stroke out. Me having minimal respect for the only thing you have to hang your hat on in life is no reason to be upset. I’m just some text on the internet. If being the best Tic-Tac-Toe player gives you pride that’s all that should matter.
Its a bigger problem. Revolves around healing. Its more or less a role that people expect to show up, play well, but get nothing for it accept all the blame if things go wrong. It essentially makes people not want to heal, but the game needs more healers, and for sure the best players won’t be healing because you literally are expected to pretty much raid a whole tier and get no loot, accept every death in all pvp situations as your fault, and in general hate gaming as a whole.
My guild did the ICC PTR and the healers were getting blamed for things like Sarafang when we had 5 marks out in the first minute. The same healers get past around on our arena teams and getting replaced because “i leet dps so if something wrong heal fault” crap that flies way to easily in this community.
Someone making fun of you doesn’t mean they are upset. Figured you’d understand this with all your experience being laughed at. What college did you go to for that doctorate in cope?
Btw hit 80 on a new character this week and the same night got 1600 in deadly and blue gear. Guess im gonna be hardstuck 1600 like the rest of these guys, huh? Or quit because the gear curve is so bad? I can feel the motivation leaving my body oh noooooooo lmfao.
It isn’t gear. It is knowledge they lack and you are unhelpful coddling them telling them its gear. Everything I’ve said is actually helpful information to someone unclear how to improve themselves.
All you’ve said is let them have access to the gear they can’t reach; wep, helm, shoulder. That won’t help. You are just as dumb as they are if you don’t understand that lol.
