I mean it can literally make a difference in 2 times your dmg/burst or more.
Gonna disagree. Several BiS PvE items and trinkets make a massive difference in builds and performance. Not to mention Tier Sets.
With that said I never thought it was bad that PvE gear was BiS and it added a lot of flavor to PvP in Wrath. It gave far more build variety and customization (which is important in an RPG)
I basically quit arena. Impossible to find a 3s team and I am playing too much other games like bg3 in my offtime now. Ggs

I qued with randoms from trade chat lmao Played like 5 different comps. I have 4100 gearscore on this brand new character and got 1600 first night. Gonna save points for discounted gear.
I assume you say this because you don’t arena at all (you dont show up on ironforge armory) or my new character surpassed what you’re peaking at. Either way you can enjoy your bgs, but if you want arena gear step into arena & improve or wait till cataclysm so you can stomp around like the toddler you are in battlegrounds wearing bis gear you dont need rating for.
This is a trashy take on Arena; if you were correct in your opinions then arena would br hoppin.
The problem with arena seasons that are gated and as a result low participation is that they are gated. Every season with power locked behind rating or gear that is worse in PvP than the PvE gear has been trash and the participation sucks as a result of that poor design.
Players right now who are hard stuck at gear level rating if they cannot progress for whatever their reasons and cannot gear further in PvE; these players are likely to quit Wrath. Oopseee too late they already did and now arena is dead… Even the BG Q’s are in some respect kinda dead now too…

The person this is directed at has explicitly stated they want full pvp bis so they can perform better in battlegrounds. You know the content that people’s alts and low geared toons participate in. He refuses to step into arena and wants all of the gear.

Assume they can get to 1600. Most casuals make it this far that I inspect anecdotally.
They are lacking helmet/shoulder/weapon and forced to wear furious. The SMALL amount of stats they are lacking is not why they are stuck in the slightest.
Pve gear makes a huge impact on a lot of classes, the last 3 resil items do not. Im telling them to research, practice, improve instead of wail on forums they can’t get higher. They lack a basic understanding of the game and so do you if you disagree with anything ive said.
Think you’re missing the base point here…
Games live and die on the backs of casuals. If we deny them gear to compete with on equal footing to us then they will not stick around because they’re both worse and don’t have gear.
Why do you think no one plays Arena any more? They cant get gear and the meta is trash.

The furious gear and relentless gear stats on the 3 items they can’t push for are negligible. Especially when compared to pve gear. Your argument should be give us pvpers pve gear so we dont have to raid, the difference between a rogue in full pvp and full pve is insane. That would be equally an unfair thing to ask for, but at least it would make sense. The fact they have to wear 3 furious items isn’t anything at all.
If they want to keep equipping new items, if thats your point of fun, then they need to pve or improve at arena. Basic stuff. I swear it feels like you guys didn’t have dads & lack the life lessons that apply here lol. Work hard, improve, get rewarded. Asking for rewards & thinking that once they have them theyll keep playing is really dumb. They aren’t playing to earn the gear then what will change when they equip those last 3 items for free? Absolutely nothing. What ive said about research, practice, improve & climb is actually the true way to look at this problem.
The cataclysm system provides all you ask for. An admittedly better system. This is wotlk. If we are upending wotlk arena systems thats something to be argued for at the start not the very end of the xpac when the system will change soon anyway.
