I think a videogame forum is the wrong place to shame someone for playing a videogame. If I want to take a week off of work to binge on a game that I’ve been waiting years for, then I will do so without feeling bad. If you want to judge people for that, for liking a videogame, then that is fine, but it doesn’t have a place here.
Edit: I see that you’ve edited your post, so atleast you feel some regret.
I never edited my post. There’s no pencil beside it - if you look. The post is what I originally posted.
I’m guilty of playing too many video games myself - or I wouldn’t be here. Why is making an observation “trolling”? I think about stuff like that all the time - like every time I take a shower I think about how the water I just used could literally help hundreds of starving kids in underdeveloped countries. We live in a messed up world.
I’m not playing any game. I made a post, then you replied, and I replied back. Somehow you’re all in a tizzy over nothing. So yes, move on. Flag it - even though there’s nothing to flag. Disliking a post doesn’t make it a troll post.
The fact that pserver players haven’t come close to a first week kill is enough for me to doubt this. To think people not playing pservers will come together with no recent experience leveling in vanilla and do what top pservers guilds can do in half the time is a bold claim. I also doubt pserver guilds have been holding back so much to improve their leveling speeds by that much.
Edit:. And if they somehow do, I could care less. I’ll be nolifing it for a week or two, but I’ll still be sleeping and eating real food.
Rag is a joke like most Vanilla content in terms of how hard it is to raid. They could bring a group with some 50’s in decent gear, and good players and down content.
This concept that Vanilla raids were hard is just because people were ignorant. A majority of Vanilla bosses have very simple mechanics. The only reason they were “hard” was because no one had any idea what they were doing, and they didn’t have addons or help resources available to them. Now all of that is changed, and the content patch is 1.12 where items are stronger than they were when MC originally came out.
You honestly believe that this would be a struggle?
They have made no statements about increasing the health pools to compensate for the increase in game knowledge. While I agree they should because base Vanilla boss stats are a joke the no changers would lose their rucking minds.
Side note what is this new forum system it’s screwy.
I think a big part of the question is just is it logistically possible to do it in 168 hours (1 week) from launch. And that’s making the wild assumption that leveling will be way faster to the point that even warriors will be able to do it faster than the current world record. 108 hours, which is 18 hours a day for six straight days is still faster than the current single person world record by 8 hours. And you need dozens of players to be able to do that on a single server all at once, meaning slightly different leveling paths for everyone that are all sub-world record pace. And that’s assuming you’re right that no one will need any consumables or fire resist gear because they’ve gotten better at the game.
Everyone knows that people will down rag easily pretty quickly. But the idea of doing it in under 168 hours from the launch is bold. Especially given how great blizzard is historically at launches.
The hardest part of vanilla was getting 80% of your 40 man raid group to work together while the 20% carried everyone else.
I was a total noob. I passed on a ZF dagger to a hunter as a rogue because it didn’t have agility stats. I downed Rag a month before the xpac dying to fire, and getting carried.
You honestly think 10 years after the content has been out been picked over, and extremely analyzed. While also having a large community that is educated, and knows how to use addons will honestly struggle with the most basic game mech’s this game has ever had? You’re dreaming look I plan to play Vanilla, but it’s going to be a steamroll.
