Ragnaros will be Dead in the First Week

This post assumes that the servers won’t be crashing. Also I’m not sure why you believe that you need to be lvl 60 to down rag. You can go into MC at lvl 50, and the gated transport is at 55. This content is doable if you have people undergeared besides your tanks.

Blizzard has stated time and time again that they are seeking an authentic recreation of the patch 1.12 experience. They aren’t going to overtune bosses for a custom challenge like with some private servers.

Well, Private Server stats are guesses at best and change the meta dramatically. Some servers have been far easier than Vanilla, and some overtuned and harder. I don’t think anyone can accurately predict more than “Experienced raiders who have read all the strats will be able to do the bomb dance well”.

The real issue will come when the client is released. If the beta client is to include molten core, there is nothing stopping hardcore guilds from hosting their own sandbox to do a dry run. We’ll know before classic is ever released how reasonable a 2 week kill is.

You’re assuming that private servers were not accurate, but most have been pretty dang close you cannot honestly say that there is a factor of error more than 10-20%.

And everything will have to go through beta anyways. So people will be ready for the raids. (That’s an entirely other problem)

Yeah, that is the one assumption that I am making. I admit, I haven’t played WoW since the beginning of Cataclysm, so I am unsure if Blizzard has improved server stability since then. I would certainly hope that they could provide an old-game stability in 2019.

Two week kill will 100% happen there should be no doubt about that. One week is far less likely, but still likely.

I’d bet my money on it. When was the greater fire protection potion recipe put into the game? just checked. it was in on launch

The head of QA on the Nostalrius core literally said “Anything on boss armor or resistances, we guessed at what felt right. We have no idea how close we really came.”

Based on video evidence it’s not like they just pulled random numbers out of nowhere. They looked at old footage of how fast things were being killed, and estimated the rough numbers.

Which relies on the quality of the videos they watched etc. If they were watching farm kills, then they may have tuned their kill to be far too easy compared to the real thing.

Nano was an idiot, and Nostalrius was horrible. I wish people would stop thinking private servers experience is limited to that server.

Light’s Hope and Kronos are lightyears beyond what was given on nostalrius.

heh pservers just guessed and on quite a few mechanics they had them flat out wrong like deep breath on ony for example.

people are in for a rude awakening.

Actually farm kills would be your most consistent runs because they would know what their doing, and likely have all the same gear. So it will be much easier to estimate based on those control factors. Non-farm kills are much harder to estimated due to not knowing mechanics, and inconsistent gear.

This, but people want to “believe” it’s hard content.

Its still all guesstimates.

But again, I will raise the point I’ve put forward in similar threads.

It doesn’t really matter, and there should not be any retuning of the boss to make it “harder”. I expect people to be a bit surprised when they try it on 3 hours sleep and random blues, but I’m not kidding myself that Rags won’t go down in the 2nd or 3rd reset.

Have you been keeping up with the pservers? Like the dude said Kronos, and Light’s Hope have done an amazing job at trying to keep to original mechanics.

Unless you think deep breath was based of witch dr voo doo.

Yeah, it will likely be much easier without Onyxia spamming deep breath every 5 seconds. Classic PvE is going to be a cakewalk in many respects, but that is where PvP comes in =D

they might be closer but i did read in an interview that when the nost team went to blizz hq ion said so how do you code deep breath and they said this way.

he said thats all wrong .

Guesstimates can be pretty accurate if you have enough information. It’s kind of how all engineering works especially reverse engineering. You’re making the assumption that all guess are unreasonable or that a “guess” cannot be extremely close to the real thing.
