I think Rag will be dead even earlier than one week. Don’t just consider the people who are going to try hard, like OP said. Consider the people who are going to try REALLY hard. We may even see a 2nd-3rd day rag kill when we take that into consideration.
You are suggesting that in 3 days calendar time, 7 people will have already hit revered with the Hydraxian water lords to summon Major Domo?
People seem to forget that back in those days, tank gear was king. If you didn’t have at least two tanks in mostly >50 blues, they will get wrecked (or your healers will OOM). DPS gear was mostly an afterthought (no real hard timers).
I think even without the Hydraxian rep requirements, realistically, Rag would be a week 2 kill.
I bet you 100 gold Rag will not be downed in the first week. I will let you know what server I am on so you can make a toon there, level it, and get your 100 gold to pay up. I mean you should be able to honor your bet in one week, right? THE NORTH REMEMBERS
Hahaha. That’s awesome. You can believe whatever you want. It is a bit asinine though, since NOBODY has ever leveled that fast, mush less a whole raid.
What is dead may never die.
I don’t know, people may end up trying REALLY REALLY hard. Then what? Launch day rag down? Just imagine. Pandemonium.
If they screw up remaking the game and get exp wrong, mess up tuning, don’t fix regen, etc… I suppose it could happen. At that point though I think most players will be more upset with all the messed up features/content that we’ll all have much bigger issues to worry about. Classic will be DOA.
If it’s done right, trying really really hard won’t get you anything but around the record time of 4days 20 hours. Most classes couldn’t even come close to that regardless. Hunters are by far the most efficient levelers.
In the US Canada and Japan Sunday is considered the first day of the week so both of you are right.
You mean the US, Canada and Japan are wrong, more like it
Not sure what part of the US thinks Sunday is the first day of the week.
It’s literally called the weekend.
There’s some ISO standard that defined Monday as the first day of the week, before that it was Sunday in many places (and still is in some).
Take a look at your Calendar, I’m looking at iCal right now and Sunday is the left most day of every week.
You are forgetting that reaching 60 isn’t the only thing you need to clear MC.
If your goal is to completely clear MC you also will need to do a rep grind, resist gear grind, attunement, consumable/gold grind, prof leveling, and run some dungeons for extra gear.
I don’t have a lot of experience when it comes to private servers but can a raid of 40 fresh 60s that have done nothing but speed level really clear MC in one day?
I am betting on week two clear. Unless those 40 people literally get 0 sleep and level in 3 irl days then proceed to get 0 sleep for another 3 days preping/doing the raid – which basically means putting your life on the line to clear a raid no one really cares about.
I mean if you go by what is taught in school in the entirety of the USA that is I can’t speak for everyone’s personal opinions though the reason why is because on the traditional Christian and Hebrew calendar Sunday is considered the first day of the week.
lol this thread is still here?
honestly even if your timeline is to be believed OP, if anything at all deviates from that timeline by even a fraction of a time, it wont happen.
the gear needed to do MC alone even before rag, is considerable. you would somehow have to get perfect drops and burn through the dungeons that drop it with very much haste.
sure you could do them at 58 or so but you will be missing alot due to lack of hit and the mobs being 4+ levels higher not to mention the crushing blows.
and then if somehow you get 2+ tanks all the gear they need to survive the mobs much less the bosses in mc …
well it would have to be perfection happening for 40 or so people.
and ya the competition for launch is going to be something to behold.
all in all youre overestimating people and circumstance.
Well the attunement is easy, most people should have that done before they finish getting to 60. You only need 7 or 8 people with the Aqual Quintessence, the whole raid doesn’t need to have rep with Hydraxian Warlords. Also only a small amount of resist is needed, Greater Fire Protection Potions help tremendously. Unfortunately, we don’t know the release date, so if it releases on pretty much any other day besides Tuesday, it’ll have to be a week 2 clear. If servers are unstable or there are problems, definitely week 2. I could see one or two guilds perhaps being dedicated enough to clear it the first week because there are some people out there who are just that knowledgeable.
someone has to level up the alchemy and get the drop for it.
then someone has to grind the mobs to get the elemental fire for the pots.
If Monday was the first day of the week then it would be part of the week end, right? Saturday is one end of the week and Sunday is the other end. Monday is the first day of the work week.
I have to wonder if people actually believe this junk or if it’s simply good troll bait.
I sincerely hope people don’t put in all that effort just to fail at this. Because it sounds very unhealthy.
Your not wrong.
Yes, over the last 14 years, everything has been optimized, everyone knows what to expect, you can do abit of research. Even for me, I’m using my vacation time to bust out 60 as fast as I can. However, the fact is your assuming that its going to be 40 people, who all end up on the exact same server and bust out the quest, rep, everything you need to do for attunement, plus get the fire resistance and everything else. You aren’t wrong, there will be guilds doing MC early, however not within a week.
I can see Method doing Rag in the first month, but no. Most guilds will not be doing MC full clears until around 2nd 3rd month. Most of us, are going to enjoy the Classic experience, even for those who used to play Vanilla and can’t wait to raid.
Another reason why it’ll be slower, is because we’re going to see a massive player drop off, after the first month, due to the fact now aday WoW players (Not hating) aren’t even prepared for the kind of challenge they are going to see. Alot are going to hit around 28-32 and then quit and go back to BFA, then come back once major youtubers start putting out optimized routes and ways for them to quickly get to 60 and get gold for their mounts.
Again, not disagreeing, just saying the odds aren’t likely. However, this is also saying that alot of the original base doesn’t come back. If the original base comes back, its going to be a fun race for non-professional guilds doing MC.
It is 100% mathematically impossible to down rag week 1. Period.
- 95% of the player base wont be 60 for about 6 weeks after launch
- The “speed levelers” wont be 60 for 7-9 days after launch. The world record is /played time not real time. Joans record is 4 days 20 hours which, they’ve said they can put down to maybe 4 days 16hours. That’s till in game time, not IRL.
If you take into account a person needing to work (unless they take the week off), a person only sleeping for 5 hours a night. Most are adults down and probably have other engagements. That still only leaves about 12-15 hours a day to play. That mathematically puts the time at around just 5 days.
Also no one will be geared and have the proper items the first week. Just the farming will take enough time that it makes the entire idea dumb.
also gear in vanilla was tiered and a lot of it came from rep which took 2-3 months to grind out…just having the proper gear to step into MC will take a few months for everyone.
