Ragnaros will be Dead in the First Week

Awesome Games Done Quick would like a word with you.

Nobody will care, like those streaming Atari game playthroughs on on Twitch and patron them.

Rag was already dead the moment they settled on 1.12 talents. It’s a done deal. Not news.

Actually, you made assumptions in your paragraphs. That is what your entire post was, assumptions. People can and will disagree on the whole because they dont feel the need to go point for point when the vast majority of your points are unrealistic at best. As an example, you are assuming that their will be enough people capable of both speed levelling and raiding who will be in the same guild, or at least the same server and discord server and that they will be capable of handling the changes that they are going to face on top of the likely huge number of other people getting in their way. God help them if they try this on a pvp server. As for sleeping, yes, they may be able to stay awake long enough to level, but 6 days with minimal sleep actually does impair your reaction times, judgement, and general mental ability.
TLDR; you just made an unsupported theory out to be a proven fact because you talked about it a lot.

That’s just flat-out incorrect.

Yes, people don’t take into account phase 2 gear and lack of some consumes. Keep in mind, these are hardcore players who are spending hundreds of hours preparing for this. Things such as the gear of the main-tank, leveling time for the majority of players, itemization/loot-tables, and consumables/professions are all considered by top players.

Now, I won’t get into specifics, because I don’t want to give away any of my own information. So I’d highly recommend joining a hardcore guild if you’re curious or if you want to join in the race yourself. That said, you are also free to doubt what top guilds will achieve, and instead be pleasantly surprised come Classic, will most people probably not caring much either way tbh.

Best of luck, you’re gonna need it.

I could see it happening, but who cares? How could you not see it happening or potentially happening? It only requires 40 of how many people are going to be playing classic? A lot more then 40. I don’t care nearly as much because who knows how long this will last. It’s not like my personal ties I have to character specific achievements that I get to take with me to every expansion. It’s a sandbox. It’s fun! Let’s just have fun (: if that is how they have fun, cool!

So?

It’s going to be brutal trying to have a proper mt to tank mc on week 1. Just getting a warrior to 60 before the reset is no easy feat.

I’m fine with you thinking so, but I’d love to hear about more specifics so I can get an idea of where you are coming from.

Yes, those players exist. Check out some of the guild recruitments posts hanging around here. Or maybe check out this list of 248 guilds that are already recruiting for Classic: docs google com/spreadsheets/d/1e7nMh8IaH5mNZ7MOx2it8MF7ULYdCIT0VqO6ubaUDq4/edit#gid=0
You are free to believe that all of those guilds are either fictitious or unable to gather 40 people.

Leveling in Classic is mostly about planning and preparation, and doesn’t require the level of focus as a CSGO or MoBA player. Not to mention, I’ve been performing mostly fine at work with my lack of sleep.:yum:

It is said practice makes perfect, but if your practice how to do something wrong you will just get really good at doing it wrong. By the same metric, if you studywhat isn’t on the test and fail to study what is, you can hope its multiple choice.

What form Classic will take exactly is still unknown, knowing the 1.12 base and the phase releases gives a general basis. How systems work with the modern system and how well these select players are practicing will reflect what they get is a loaded variable.

Like how professional racers work with mechanics practice the track all they can, and tune their cars best they can, but race day things can always happen, non ideal weather, faulty parts, spectator trash on the tracks…

Sure its great they are working for something they are so passionate about, however they need to also keep a realistic view of what they aspire to do. The way these kinds of posts keep coming up, its only goign to make it worse on them in failure.

You might be assuming a little too much.

Assuming 40 people will all hit 60 on the same server

Assuming all those people are a variety of classes (because you can’t do MC with 1 warrior, 25 hunters, 10 mages, and 4 priests)

Assuming those people can either clear the raid in fresh 60 gear (mostly greens with random blues)
Or
Have enough time to gear up to do the raid

And clear the raid with limited consumables and resources.

All within 7 days of launch.

(X) to doubt.

Lol, what a joke.

$50 says it doesn’t happen.

Specifics. Ok. Here are a few factors that your theory leaves out. First, there is going to be intense competition for mobs. The information available to your hypothetical group is available to anyone looking to realm first max out and, as has been pointed out numerous times, there will be no dynamic spawn rate.
Another rather large problem with your hypothesis is that you are assuming that a group who is either undergeared, under level, or both can take down raid bosses who have not been accurately fought for years. Even the private server admins from Nost said that most of their number crunches were guesses.
Third, you assume that all the supposed people in this group are going to be able to make it. I disagree. Some will try and fail, some will try and succeed. The chances of getting the right number to do this are minimal especially when they face pressure to do so. Also, this particular plan has a very high chance of causing a frustrated burnout.
I have read enough of your replies in this thread to already assume that you arent going to like these comments and that you will only be happy when someone manages to provide cited sources, quotes from the future by people who tried and succeeded or failed and a notarized letter from Ion testifying to the veracity of those quotes.

Good luck with that. I guess we will all just have to see how it works out on Launch Day plus 7.

Outside my own experience, I’m hoping and looking forward to seeing private server speed runners struggle.

I say this a lot, but I’m hoping it happens.

I will give you $100 if Rag is down after 1 week has passed since Classic launched.

Look me up if that happens, and I’ll make good on it.

It won’t happen.
