FF14 systems are set up to preemptively weed out those who can’t follow clear instructions during the account setup stage and those who can’t follow simple video tutorials.
This is an online game account UI, not rocket assembly.

Go to the bottom and click on the “begin software authentication activation” and come back and tell me that page it takes you to is clear and straightforward.
Are you adding a security token to your account that you don’t have or something?

Don’t need to go through that just for a trial account. The only thing you need to do is install it on steam, register, download the game, and then log in and play lol.

What’s poorly designed about it? You can literally move, resize, and adjust the transparency of every element of the UI in FFXIV.
And you can have 4 different UI presets which you can customize and make a macro to switch between them at the press of a single button.
