Maybe instead of complaining about how quitters are talking about other games they find fun you make this game more fun so they have fun…hic!
That’s just crazy talk!
I don’t know if they quit just to play it or just to do anything else but wow. Call of duty had 100 million more users than wow last quarter, candy crush 200. So people are playing other games and any excuse to leave shadowlands seems legitimate.
@Bombay
I hear that lots of people that eat oranges eat a lot more apples every year…
Most people who post threads saying they are leaving or respond to those threads saying they also are through don’t mention FF14.
I’m willing to bet that a majority of people that unsub (whether it’s for another game or not), don’t feel the need to post about it - otherwise, the Forums would be flooded with “Okay Bye Now!” topics…
Opinion is not facts, just saying. I’ve tried that game, and it lacks the polish if this game, and by polish, I mean all of the little details within buildings, nature ect.
I quit and am playing another game. Have already basically done that. Being subscribed for the one super squirt day doesn’t really count as playing.
I suspect that is because their graphics are higher quality and if they put more tiny details there would be lag and a whole lot of people wouldn’t even be able to play it.
Take a look at the details in the characters and clothing themselves though - and compare THAT to WoW.
I started FF and to be honest while it looks better visually I am not a fan of the combat or the leveling. There are no new talents or skills to select when you level up. I am not sure if there is any customization after you level? Granted I am only level 3. I also read that everything is dull until you reach the first expansion.
Final Fantasy has more than it’s fair share of problems too. Like, some really crippling ones. Folks like to hold up housing as some big saving grace that MMO has, but they tend to ignore that housing prices in FF14 are ridiculously high, and there’s only a limited number of plots available, which tend to get snapped up fairly quickly.
You also can’t take a lengthy break once you own a house for those two reasons. Like, let’s say that you’re, well, coming into the dead period where you’re essentially waiting for the next expansion to drop (which is a phase that FF14 will be moving into soon). If you were playing WoW in that situation you could take a break for 2, 3, 4 months easily and come back later closer to the expansion launch and jump right back in.
But in FF14 if you own property you MUST be active at least once every 45 days (meaning you don’t even get 2 full months to have a break) otherwise your plot is surrendered and your house is demolished, which, not going to lie. If I spent millions of gil on buying and upgrading a house, I’d be furious if I had to take a break due to unforseen events, and when I got back on, found that my house had been destroyed and my plot was taken by someone else.
When I tried FF:ARR some years back it brought my potato (which ran WoW fine) to its knees. Like, unplayable low framerate right from the start. My computer is much better now but the experience was very offputting, so I have no intention of moving to FF14 even though my WoW sub formally expires in 9 days.
Imagine having catgirls uwu
If you’re going to have catgirls, you may as well go all the way, none of this half and half stuff…
Most games that I’ve tried seem to be "painted"in the background, and even your own character, and NPC’S, just stand there when they’re .inactive. whereas in this game you character shifts her and there, and the NPC’S actually have conversations with other NPC’S, and even will walk away when you’re trying to read quest text. All of this adds flavor to a game. The only other game that was similar was Wildstar, and I actually liked that one, because it was similar to WoW’s art style, and polish. I had an Aurin pysonicist, or whatever the exact class was called.
My playtime has decreased about 80% for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It is just objectively far more fun than WoW is currently. So is God of War (even on multiple repeat plays) and The Witcher III.
When friends are online, WoW can be quite a good time though.
Hmm, i might actually give it a shot…is the combat system similar to WoW?
If it makes you feel better whenever I unsub or not playing WoW I’m playing GW2 or SWtOR
FF14 has fantastic pve and an enjoyable gearing system. There is always something to work on. The PvP is so clunky it keeps me from playing. War hammer online 2 whennnnn
Personally think FF is kinda trash outside crafting and gathering.
