Did you do the ultimate raids as well? And its a different experience for everyone. Some people are better then others in tough fights.
According to my roomie that plays they been seeing a steady influx of old WoW players to ff for a while now.

Probably because the city is a damn maze, and there’s sidequests to grab every freaking where in the city.
I literally spent like 2 hours just grabbing side quests in the main city the first night I tried it. 
Most of them are for other jobs lol.

Cleared all the content with the guild I was with. I’m also US 100 xp on WoW tho, so it’s was way easier for me.
They can advertise all the like. It doesn’t bother me because it isn’t going to change my mind about it. If you feel the same, shouldn’t bother you either.

I’ve always wanted to love FFXIV.
After a bit of a grind unlocking the class I finally wanted to play, I just couldn’t get myself to keep pushing forward. The idea of Astrologian was really cool, but ugh, the gameplay is so slow.
I haven’t quit. FF14 is pretty awesome.

This is actually a terrible idea. What’s happened to blizzard is that the passion for the game has died off. Most of OG team have left and are on to other projects. There’s no appetite to sink resources into anything like this internally. It’s not Activision on or Vivendi or anyone else, Blizzard is just at the end stage of a studios lifecycle.
Personally, I’m looking forward to Riots offerings. Not to play them, (maybe to play them, if they are good) but more as a catalyst for blizzard to poop or get off the pot with the MMO genre. They’re basically keeping WoW alive on life support at this stage, they need to DO something. Either let it die in peace or launch a multi year engineering effort to right the ship. Or modernize it, really.
At least they aren’t Amazon. I don’t know if could show my face if I wasted that much money to cancel a dozen games in 5 years. Yeesh. Someone over there needs a wake up call in a big way. But make no mistake, as the gamers move on and the management slots are filled with MBAs, blizzard games are going to continue to get further behind the latest trends while never defining their own.
yeah i guess you’re right…i mean in a perfect world, it woulda been cool, had blizzard not sold out for them to do something like that…
