Yeah you’re not going to bait me into that here.
Good try tho.

it’s not dead yet but it is dying. i think the only person i see keeping the hype alive rn is asmon but thats a given seeing how big his follower base is plus it’s not like he is going to quit until he gets whatever he wants out of the game which is hit end game and likely xmog stuff/collecting mounts and what not. same stuff he does in WoW.
I don’t know this streamer, but I recall seeing his name last few weeks, driving up the concurrent viewership for ff14 by a few thousand every couple of days. He’s not drawing in as much traffic as the bald one for sure but he was doing a LOT better than some of the regular ff14 content creators it seems.
That being said he’s engaging the ff14 fans on that twitter thread in spectacular dumpster fire fashion.
Not counting the, you know…
Alternative class leveling.
Three tiers of 8-man raids per expansion.
Three tiers of 8-man Savage Raids per expansion.
Three 24-man Alliance raids per expansion.
The plethora of side-content that can be done that does nothing for you at end-game but is there for the fun of it.
Primal Trials
Warring Triad Trials
The Four Lords Trials
The Sorrow of Werlyt Trials
Daily beast tribes for EXP, mounts, cosmetics, and crafting rewards.
Housing.
Glamour-hunting.
Orchestrion-hunting.
Crafting.
Gathering.
The Gold Saucer with Glamour-judging and cosmetic rewards.
The Manderville questline.
Class questlines.
Role questlines.
FATES.
Challenge Logs.
Sightseeing Logs.
Hunting Logs.
High-Level Hunts.
Palace of the Dead.
Heaven-On-High.
Relic Weapons, which you have to do multiple levels of farming to get the best weapons for your class.
Running daily and weekly content for currencies to earn better gear.
A cornucopia of improved social features including an automatic translation system when used correctly.
PvP for cosmetic rewards (even if the PvP is bad in FFXIV).
The fact that everything stays relevant no matter what level you are because you get scaled down to run old content.
Oh yeah, and the story.
Is this satire? Please tell me this is satire.
Asmongold didn’t make the game popular. The game has been successful for the last eight years without him. People are hyped over FFXIV because it’s a different game from WoW.
Baiting because I’m being honest?
Disregarding the fact it’s extremely offensive and disparaging to describe something as “weeb” simply because it’s from Japan, but it’s also just a thinly-veiled, underhanded insult at those who like it.
It’s like none of you understand that what you say is oftentimes contextual.
uh, who?

Woah it happened. I watched a post get buried in action while I was reading it…
It’s been dying since TBC last 12 years ago.
I’m looking forward to the day World of Warcraft finally dips below one million (which could very well be soon), and people still use this excuse as if it still has twelve million.
Asmongold also jumped on the hype train. He helped it, but he didn’t start it.
FFXIV’s popularity was steadily increasing well before Asmongold hopped onto it, which is what a lot people seem to misunderstand when they dismiss its hype as nothing more than a fad.
I gave FF14 a try and it’s good, but it’s just so god damn slow. Everything seems to take forever to do. Every little quest has a cutscene, dungeons need unlocking, raids need a whole story, new zones requiring older raids and a whole set of quests for story. I got burned out before I even reached Stormblood and honestly don’t see myself going back.
Bold of you to write this on a pandaren. Just saying.
Keep on dreaming. The Weeb game would die first. WoW has to be beaten first. WoW was the best MMO 16 years ago and arguably still the best right now. That’s why you are here.
HAHAHAHAHA
The brewmaster was included on Warcraft 3 before WoW. Fyi. And that weeb game is really a weeb game. It’s best described as a weeb game.
Yeah but you’re a race that was originally inspired by Japanese samurai before becoming Chinese-inspired.
So…Samwise Didier was a weeb.
But kung fu panda copied warcraft 3 becoz warcraft 3 came first.
And so is FF14. LOL.
I don’t get how that’s an insult.
Kung Fu Panda was awesome.
Tell me you’re a twelve year-old without actually saying you’re a twelve year-old.
Drop below 1million not possible, there’s still a lot of left over wow player, expect around 1.5million to 2.5million.
Plus there’s a lot of whale feeding blizzard with money, so yeah expect them to milk all this whale for another one or two more expansion before it finally collapse.
Because most of this people never had a real argument, they can only toss words like Ku fu panda or weeb and expect to win in an argument.
That system looks bad, also don’t like multiple classes on one character, let alone change specs in wow and why this system be even great?
