I was redoing some old quests on an alt to get all the missed transmogs because as of TWW, quests are now supposed to give all transmogs for all armor types rather than just the ones equippable to that character. It’s not working. I did the quest “the nightmare scar” and still only got the transmogs for that specific character. No leather, mail or cloth transmogs from that quest are in my collection, even after both reloading and restarting the game.

I’d like to chime in that this worked in Beta a few weeks ago; when I copied my main over I was granted all past quest transmogs and completing new quests was rewarding all mogs as well.
Very disappointed to see that this did not make it to live, hoping it’s a bug.

Any idea if a working version is meant to be retroactive as well?

Hopefully this is just a temporary measure to reduce server load during the initial patch. Would love to hear from a blue regarding this though.

Oh good, I’m not crazy. My rogue has done every quest zone in the game and I was wondering why my evoker didn’t have that many more options.
This was one of the big things I was excited for in pre-patch, it would be great if it got fixed.
But like the Shaman and Paladin talent trees, I feel like bits of a older beta build made it live.

How does something like this have 5 replies now a 6th? This like critical WTF type thing that was working in beta, now dead on Live hehe.

I noticed this as well. This character has basically done every quest and I only got 6 unlocks from stuff that was no my armor type and was in my bags when I logged in initially. I should have hundreds of appearances.

I made a new character exactly for this reason - to redo quests and get all the transmog from them. I REALLY hope this is a bug. Pls Blizzard PLSSS

Some of the BFA mogs require you to do the full war campaign. I’m not eager to do that on 4 characters.

I’d really like to see confirmation from Blizzard that this is, in fact, the bug that we believe it is. When transmog first launched transmog way back in 2011, we did get mog credit for all of the quests we’d already completed. Now not only have we not gotten credit for the quests that we already completed, it isn’t even giving full credit for pre-TWW quests when they are freshly completed quests now.
Please, Blizzard, either acknowledge that this is a bug or make a statement (a frustrating, aggravating statement) this is working as intended and you really do expect to have people rerun tons of old quests.

Bumping as a concern!
This is a bummer, I made a new toon to collect old quest rewards mogs and I notice is not working like in beta.
I feel betrayed because I trusted the official advertising of the Warband feature and jumped right in to do quests with a new toon for the past few days, only to find my time completely wasted.
And no blue care to reply. It can only be 1 of these 3 outcomes:
- It’s intended, so suck it up;
- It’s not intended, and when we fix it, we will grant your entitled transmog retroactively;
- It’s not intended, but if we fix it, it won’t be retroactive, so you should refrain from doing quests now.
So at least players who care about transmog and their time can plan accordingly.
And a little bit of “sorry” wouldn’t harm too.
Is that too much to ask?

Apparently communication is (still) too much to ask, despite relentless promises that they’d do better. It’s been three days since Warbands went live with the marquee features broken and not word one has been said about it since the end of the 14 hour maintenance.

Would like an explanation from blizzard on this feature. For sure, the existing quests are not rewarding all of the mog types from the quest.

I did exiles reach before TWW.
Then I did it as a leather user last night…
Today I did it as a Mail user and was still unlocking it…
So it’s not only not retroactive doing it you don’t get any other specs at all right now…
This is such a massive issue, this why I’m here and coming back to WoW for this feature… Yet not a single acknowledgement.
I have done exactly the same yesterday with a new monk. Super frastrated. And they say they want to value the time of the players when they introduce the Warband feature.
