To me it seems that the warband system is just not rolled out fully and we are only told about the bank, but not achievements and transmogs.
Something seems to be causing an issue here, maybe we have too many items that are unoptainable and the game can´t display them, or so.
The code is so old, it´s quite possible that some stuff is no longer in the database and therefore we get the placeholder instead and to fix that, they disabled it.
That being said, it worked in Beta, so the question is, was anyone in Beta who did have a Vanilla account?
Ofc. it´s also possible that people could dupe gold / items with the warband system, who knows.
I just tried it now on beta for newly completed quests and it didn’t work. I completed Bounty on Murlocs in Elwynn Forest as a Death Knight on the server These Go To Eleven, and did not receive the Long Bayonet or Marshal’s Light Crossbow appearances since Death Knights cannot use daggers or crossbows. It would be great to get clarification about what the expected behavior is.
Hopefully this gets fixed soon, not looking forward to the prospect of repeating loremaster multiple times, which would be the current solution to this issue.
Already looking at the potentiality of having to do it anyway there is an alliance only plate item from a quest in Feralas and I think shadowmoon has an Aldor only item too, but this would be repeating it on another character in addition.
Waited a few days to make a new character to start working on this, only to find it not working. I was really excited to not have to redo the wandering isle with every class, or the worgen/goblin starting zones.
My only hope is that they’re simply stalling for time until Tuesday and they have some miracle cure prepped for maintenance that fixes everything.
New day no answers. I know it’s the weekend, but it’s not even confirmed a bug… There is legit confirmation of single transmog bug but not 1,000’s of possible items lol?
Saw the same thing. Did some quests in (old) Darkshore (Spoke to Zidormi to go back to “old” version) on a druid. Collect some leather items. But then went there on a mage and noted that hadn’t collected items. It was showing rewards “not collected” for things I hadn’t done.
So seems very confusing. (and a little frustrating). Not sure if to do more quests and see, or just want and find out what’s going on. As otherwise have to repeat things again (again and again).
Did some searching to see if others had the same, and various reports of people finding the same thing (do quests but not getting “all” gear that is missing. But no real response to it. Even just a quick reply - “hey, hold off doing older quests until we’re sure it’s ALL working”. What’s that,…like a 3 second reply. Would just be helpful and respectful of players time. Plus, otherwise then have to make more characters to try and get the “missed” outfits.
it’s a bit like running around chasing your tail at the moment! Amongst other bags and weird resolution issues and bars resetting and character lists “reverting” all the time.
Definitely makes it hard to play at the moment! Which is such a shame.
Just my 2cents worth.
I can confirm this is still happening after today’s maintenance on live. I completed Mission: Plague This! on a Priest and didn’t receive e.g. the mail appearance Purestrike Bracers.
I can confirm this is still happening on beta after today’s new patch, which some community sites are saying is a release candidate build. I completed Bounty on Murlocs on a Druid and didn’t receive e.g. the crossbow appearance Marshal’s Light Crossbow.
Only thing I can think of is the purposely staggering the unlocks so players dont get walls of chat text spam with hundreds if not thousands of transmog appearance unlocks like we did when the collections tab was added in the Legion pre patch.
It was working on Beta, so the functionality is there.
Based off what was said, and what was on the PTR, I assumed this feature would continue on Live. MrGM interviewed developer Morgan Day and asked about collecting transmog appearances from questing, and if that’ll be retroactive.
If it’s a bug and not intended that fine, if it’s delayed that’s fine, if it’s something they decided against that’s less fine, but I would welcome a response from blizz explaining their reasoning if that is the case.
