Question for solo Q dectractors

Lots of talk about solo Q. Recent post has 100+ likes regarding implementing it.

Clearly there is a large portion of the player base that wants this to happen.

And there are quite a few people who are also against solo Q.

My question for players that are against solo Q is, why ? If solo Q was ADDED to and not REPLACING to the regular ladder why would you care ?

It seems like a lot of people who are against solo Q have friends and high ratings already. You could literally continue to do what you do the exact same way you are now. LFG could still be a thing, giving you multiple options.

Want to look for solid players to continue ur rating push and coveted w/l ratio ? Make a group and inspect everyone.

Just want to play the damn game ? Que up solo. L2P. Get serious about arena after u have a basic understanding.

Do you really think solo Q will affect players that are 1800 + ?

This is a legitmate question. I know solo q doesnt solve the problem of class balance and all the other garbage, but like, if CLEARLY people want this to happen just so they can play the game, why does that bother you ?

The people who are against solo Q are probably upset that it would reduce the pool of available players to face in pre-arranged team matches.
A lot of pugs who wait years for teammates in lfg will stop looking. This will make lfg deader than it already is.

Yeah i guess that makes sense, but that could also be a good thing. Lots of people in LFG just want to play and have little experience.

The people who would use LFG if solo Q were to come out would be people seriously looking for partners for rating push etc

I’m not exactly against solo queue, I’m for whatever gets people to play the most. I just don’t think this solves the issues like people think it will. For instance, people are like I’ll play with anyone and I just want solo queue to match me with the same CR person. Well if that’s true, than why isn’t it happening in LFG right now? Can people just be like, I’ll play with anyone at my CR, people queue and you accept the first person and play right? But that doesn’t happen. So now Solo Queue will come in and everyone will be really excited peeing everywhere and what not. A month in, we’ll start to see. We needing a filtering system, so I can queue up with specific classes, specs, & etc… Because there is a class imbalance, a comp imbalance, and a skill imbalance.

Look like I said if that “fixes” the game to where we have more pvp participation and it brings an influx of new players, by all means go for it. I just don’t think it’s a long term solution. I think it’s a starting point, and than from there, there’s a chance for a really steep drop off.

This is the other part, within the 100’s of people that was solo queue, there’s no real clear idea of what solo queue is. If you even watch those twitch users discuss it, they weren’t 100% sure. Some people have even said they would like a “Solo Queue” ladder (a small portion, but a portion), and if that were the case, now you are effecting other players that don’t want solo queue.

Also i’ve heard people say Solo Queue will fix boosting. No, no it won’t. people who get boosted do it for the gear (majority of the time). Solo Queue may effect boosting as a positive or a negative. Lets say they put solo queue in, and you queue up. Your 1st 4 partners are F tier specs. You drop all 4 (or more games). You just lost 60ish rating. You queue back in and get you some C tier specs and what not. You win a few and lose a few, but you come out losing 2 or 3 more games than you won. So now your 80 - 70 rating down mostly because Solo Queue put you with a couple guys who wanted to try a different spec, or a couple guys who’s spec just got nerfed to the ground. You have a couple options. You can try to find a friend to play with, you can try to solo queue again (I mean it’s worked so well right), you can try LFG (which is dead now because everything thought solo queue solved the world’s problems), or you can pay for a boost. You may not pay for a boost, but people still will especially after a run of bad luck. Oh the last option, you can just quit because your frustrated at the game now (after you got the so needed solo queue).

Edit: I do think Blizz needs to update LFG where you can see more than just an Ilvl. They need to link people to armory, put CR in the LFG tool, Spec in the LFG tool, and Season highest CR in the LFG tool

It’s just not something that will work with WoW pvp. Class balance /spec balance is too awful then toss in 2k+cr people using it to stomp no geared people and it’ll be dead on arrival.

Want solo que? Go play gw2, or swtor.

Tbh I think it’ll just become “reported for being bad” non-stop. Ontop of that you will have griefers who will throw games to spite you for w/e reason. I don’t think a true soloq is achievable and it’ll have some form of pseudo soloq in WoW (basically you get to choose mates from a list and if you both match kek tinder).

What if the desired achievement is just to play the game casually at like 1700< or something ?

Because not everyone enjoys soloq, in most games it’s rather toxic (yes I know LFG isn’t much better) in addition I prefer to play with friends than randoms.

yeah but that is why i am saying to have both. Players that care more about rating would likely gravitate to lfg still, while this sea of players that are complaining would solo q until they got to like 1400 - 1500 and start wanting to take arena more srs

n im not bashing either sides i just really dont understand why people would want it in the game, especially when i click on those people and they are always geared and 2k+

I’d rather them refine LFG than do this, it’s also more likely.

I just know if soloq is introduced after 2 months we’ll see even more posts about how bad it is.

The kind of people that think soloq will fix wow are the same type of people that type in twitch chats. Poggies!

Even Asmongold made a video explaining how the problem isn’t lack of soloq/lfg it’s the way people choose to play the game and meta slave.

Yeah it’s really hard to find partners after you finish gearing your fresh venthyr hunter and demand high requirements for people to play with you.

People also don’t join guilds anymore, and I swear people have just become more anti social in general.

Funny thing is stoopz accidently showed everyone the alternative (correct) answer to solo que when he made this guild hi I’m lfg.

Stop being a try hard dork when you’re low cr. Invite people, get in discord, be friendly and positive and make friends. Nobodies gonna play if you’re an anti social grease ball that’s too good to get in comms with people = to your mmr. Absurd to think you can meet friends to que with like that
