Levelling the Zandalari priest, I happened to notice that the 10% XP gain from the Draught of Ten Lands and the 20% gain from the Excess Potion of Accelerated Learning happen to stack, which makes the XP gain from the bonus questing in Draenor zones (already boosted considerably by the full regalia of heirlooms he has on)…rather phenomenal. Three or four of those little tidbits, bam, level.
Now, obviously the garrison potion only works on Draenor, and only up to 99, but in light of the crackdown involving the multi-draught bug, I feel I need to ask: Is this working as intended… or should I be preparing myself to find other activities for the next day or two?
It’s not two Draughts of Ten Lands, though, is the thing (I’ve never had it do the multi-stack), it’s one Draught and one Draenor garrison potion. I wasn’t sure if they were supposed to be active at the same time or not (though with the Draught it’s hard to tell, since it doesn’t come with a timer; the Draenor one does).
In my experience, potions that grant boons of similar nature will overwrite one another if a greater boon is applied-- e.g. a 10% experience draught being inferior to a 20% WoD pot, just as an example.
If that doesn’t happen, it’s safe to say that it probably isn’t intended functionality.
The trouble is…I think I might have dug myself a bit of a hole with the “phenomenal XP” comment, as I actually remember that XP being quite good with just the heirlooms and the 20% Draenor one before. Plus, this is the first character I’ve levelled on Draenor since the big XP squish in 8.1, so I’m honestly not sure if it’s working as it did before with the heirlooms and the 20% from the Draenor one (overriding the Draught as you suggest), or if both ARE working.
The issue with the draught was that people stacked it with itself which is not a behavior available to any other buff.
The draught also stacks with the dark moon faire XP buff and that was permissible behavior as they were two distinctly separate buffs.
So, if separate buffs are allowed to stack, it’s reasonable to assume it’s intended behavior.
If the same buff is allowed to stack with itself, it’s reasonable to assume it’s a bug.
I just tried to see if they stacked on my level 99 Hunter that had 43 minutes left on his Draenor XP Gain Potion and when I clicked to add another potion it simply took me back to 60 minutes for the duration of the potion; So for me it doesn’t stack.
