Even if Ele blast got a 50% nerf, it’s still going to be chunking for like 80k+ dam
every time they have nerfed DS in the past, it has destroyed DK in PVP. this is the kind of nerf you do when you don’t want any DKs on the ladder.
im glad i didn’t by the 12 month sub, i knew some was coming. so much for the expac being good, its ruined now.
i agree with this. dps should be dps. healers should be healers.
unfortunately, that isn’t the state of the game right now. which is why this nerf is way over the edge.
Maybe the state of the game is changing but the Devs are just implementing it poorly. Mages got some healing nerfs and they cried that everyone had it and things like Lock exist. Well hopefully we can in the next weeks hit healing on other specs and bring them in line with DK.
i don’t care if DK healing is nerfed if everything else is in-line with DK healing.
It won’t be. Most specs that are overperforming will continue to do so. We’ve seen it in previous seasons, so there’s no reason to believe that this time will be any different.
Elemental doesn’t get anything back though, and I’m not sure it needed a raw nerf. Maybe it did, but while I can do some pretty nasty things to undergeared players the damage feels way less overbearing against equally geared players. It’s also super dependent on crits and at the current gear level, even focusing on crit rating, I only have like 26-27% crit on the burst combo when scaled.
It feels like the build is going to play a ton like when I played fire in Wrath (original) and had to repeatedly go and reset until I rolled the dice correctly on crits and Hot Streak procs, which is a pretty degen playstyle. Some variance is manageable but right now it’s just so night-and-day the difference between favorable and unfavorable RNG per go attempt. Expending all your cooldowns and resource build-up on a low set of rolls feels awful, and of course on the other hand it doesn’t feel good to have a string of crits against you mean you get bursted through even properly used defensives just because the peak damage is that high. Nerfing Maga Chamber hits Ele Blast in specific, but it also means hitting one of our controlled modifiers. I’d honestly prefer they nerf the crit modifier in PvP instead.
I see how it is. I make the thread and I’m chopped liver smh
80k is fine dude lol. People still need to be able to die
i mean nerfing rogues into the dirt isn’t the right direction. The subtlety bust definitely needs attention, but it always does at the beginning of xpacs. Nerf the burst and sun is manageable if you are halfway decent at pvp.
Is this some sort of of a gotcha you are trying for? I have been vocal about sub being overpowered and needing nerfs (since the crazy buffs they got). Mature adults can understand when something you play is too strong. 30% on echoing is a really good nerf because it is the primary issue with the burst and reducing the power in it also reduces the power of the shadowblades proc from it. This is effectively a 2 for 1 nerf for sub burst. So basically two of the hardest hitting instances of damage got reduced by 30% with 1 nerf. This will make a difference.
I disagree.
its not good for blizz money , many people raged in SL and quitted the game because rogue were killing in the opener and you needed to trinket cheap shot lol ,
People are always gonna hate rogue , just the way it is.
Never said it wasnt.
100k should be about the ceiling of a burst dam hit at our current gear level
Yeah I feel you there what specs are the outliers at this point now
And the devs have proven again, that they don’t understand their own game!
Your goal should be to bring every class to A tier. Yet DH is still the most broken spec, closely followed by Sub Rogue, Shadow untouched, Feral untouched and Demo/Affli Locks barely nerfed in their defense, while you should aim for their offense.
But instead you started to nerf classes from A tier down to B/C tier, make them unfun to play and in some cases probably not viable anymore. Or buffing other classes from below A-tier, which is good, but completely overshoot so they become lower S-tier.
Share the data with us on which your decisions are based. It feels more like you listened to that Canadian mage streamer or used a dice.
And next time, release those patch notes before the expansion goes live, so I can decide what to level, or if I am even going to buy the game.
Warlock ate a 3% nerf to soul leech healing, which was in the PvE notes but I assume that is during PvP as well. Class is fixed.
Jokes aside it really is just Dark Pact that’s the problem. I can’t take people seriously when they let a 50 stack soul rot drain life cast go off for more than half a second. That’s on you for not saving a stop, nothing else is worth using a stop for.
I don’t think they will nerf it though, they purposefully made it that way because they stole the bonus armor from demon armor, and we all know blizzard won’t admit that was a mistake.
Nerfing aff/demo’s defense is a good approach initially because there’s really no solid indicator that they’re lacking significantly on offense. Although I have to say that I’m confused why they’ve kept targeting soul leech. Dark pact is the main defensive being abused right now for warlocks because of its forgiving nature and that should have gotten addressed from the start instead of anything else.
They’ve done dirty with Enhance mainly so far. But I think the DK nerfs were reasonable to an extent due to how much they’ve been healing and been invulnerable to casters in general. If you nerf the S/A tier specs rightfully, you normally start seeing the classes/spec from tier below naturally make their way up to A tier (replacing what were once S/A tier). A huge gripe of mine so far has been about classes that don’t need healing having an obnoxious amount and the classes that are supposed to die by outplays & mistakes are feeling extremely resistant to death. Looks like they’re trying to preserve their original PvE philosophies with these changes and are having a hard time evaluating exactly what requires proper modulations.
its really a 50% nerf, but you already knew that and just tried to make it sound like a small nerf lol.
try harder
Soooo happy for the DK grip nerf… made things more aggravating than necessary.
I mean soul leech is nothing to begin with, so it is a small nerf. But yes the wording was unintentionally bad. It’s 3% of damage done, down from 6%.
They can remove soul leech and people would still rightfully call for lock healing nerfs. It’s just Dark Pact. Not really warranted imo, since lock lost soul shape mobility and demon armor. If they nerf pact any melee would just run them over.
It just feels bad how often pact is up and that it can be used in a stun. It doesn’t require any thought and you don’t really get punished for pressing it at a bad time, since the downtime is so low.
