PvP Rewards and Item Levels

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it’s good either. Just thought I’d share why maybe Blizzard thought it was good.
At the time I think it was okay because PvP gear was specific to PvP. Now it does seem like gating for gating sake.

Increase weekly cap or make weapons available without a dumb achievement that no one cares for.

10 Weeks in order to unlock the ability to buy a pvp weapon seems a bit lengthy?

Sounds like a system where once again you’re encouraged to PvE to be most competitive in PvP.

I’m trying to recall the specific pieces.

But I remember the values being…

1250 - 1750 - 2250 - 3500

Trying real hard to remember where each value went. But 3500 was for the weapon and it used to take 2-3 weeks to acquire it with a 1500 baseline cap that increased with rating.

Overall I think it’s fine since you also get a guaranteed item every week from the great vault.

The 5k req for weps needs to come down to 1.5-2k though. That would be 3 or 4 weeks.

10 weeks is insane.

Top end raiders have been basically forced to pvp and do M+ for a while now, nothing wrong with having to do other content if you want to dominate in pvp early in the season. Also as I said raid drops have been nerfed heavily. I do agree infinite M+ gear is a problem for both raiding and pvp.

I think its a fair attempt to balance how quickly players are geared across both PvE and PvP. It is healthier for the game to be easier to gear through PvE because not all PvErs have the chops for PvP. PvPers just don’t want to PvE.

Vendors are in oribos, go look at them, its 525 for a ring and 875 for a chest, 700 for a trinket.

It is truly astounding the lengths you will go to ensure PvP gearing is as slow and miserable as possible.

But thanks for the transparency I guess, something we could have sorely used for most anything PvP related in the past 4 years.

Remember when they originally announced PvP conquest vendors, and everyone said this was going to be the fix PvP needed? And then we heard there were going to be honor vendors, too. And people who used to buy honor gear were overjoyed.

Then we found out how honor vendors were going to work, and people were like, this is bad…

Then a few days before the expansion they released information on using honor and rating to upgrade gear, and elite players were “This is great! It’s everything PvP needed!” And people who hadn’t bought the expansion yet did just that.

And now we see the details and it’s like, “What???”

But they got your money, didn’t they?

I’m not surprised they managed to put in yet another convoluted system to make sure PvPers are never even with PvEers.

I remember it taking a month to buy a conquest weapon in wod.

10 WEEKS FOR A WEAPON? This is a room temperature IQ decision. This is BEYOND stupid.

I don’t think anyone should be forced to do anything they don’t want to do. If you want to be competitive in PvP, I think you should 100% be able to ignore the other areas of the game.

I was referring to the old system. Could’ve misread what he was looking for.

I don’t see a flag button here. How do I report Blizzard for irrationality?

Gives you plenty of time to farm anima!

There are 3 “paths” of end game.

Raids
Mythic+
PvP

None let you only focus on a single path if you want to be competitive.

So they had us actually hopeful that PvP was going to be great to gear through finally. That you wouldn’t have to pve except the first two weeks of the expansion and honestly you didn’t even need to then. Only for them to tell us that once the season opens and it is time to buckle down and get the grind going that PvP’ers get hard stopped early on and are told to let the M+ players and Raiders go through first and get fully geared before we can afford 3-4 pieces of actual rated gear. How unfair is that you are basically giving a chunk of your community hope but then making it very clear last minute that they are still the least important part of your community because PvE is the only thing that matters right? I was super excited for this expansion and to hardcore pvp on some of my characters because this seemed like it was going to be super alt friendly and fun that i didn’t have to feel like i needed to do M+ and Raids on my alts to get geared for pvp and not feel inadequate but now to go and do this is just a slap in the face to everyone that was actually praising Blizzard for “listening” and allowing pvp’ers to do what they want and just pvp not have to do anything else. Super unfair and SUPER DISRESPECTFUL to the pvp community.

Please separate pve and pvp gear so that players don’t have to do content they don’t want, but can still have competitive rewards.
