I agree with OP, this is a legit post that the devs should be taking seriously.
While it is nice that they are taking the time to make sure the various light posts in Westfall are all glowing a white that is true to the 1.12 client, I’m more concerned that a lot of core 1.12 mechanics will be overlooked or simply disregarded in the modern classic wow client.
Considering they are going back to the original Rogue regen it is entirely possible they are working on it. It’s entirely possible they won’t be able to do it using the more modern infrastructure so they may not want to make an announcement on it until they know for sure what the deal is.
I don’t care about batching. I doubt many others do either. This is just one more thing for people to whip themselves into a frenzy. Those saying classic won’t be the same without batching, come on, lets not be dramatic.
I would be surprised if a single player that posted here has ever used batching as a tactic,
This is true. I got suspended for trolling/spamming… when I was combating troll/spam threads by giving them an end all answer that shut down their debate. And it was a fairly long suspension too like wtf.
I will raise freaking hell if they seriously do that. In fact I am making a freaking thread on that alone soon! Because I seriously think they may do something stupid like that!
Come on now, I got a 72h hour ban on these forums for saying “O rly” and quoting a troll that posted conflicting statements in different threads. It’s very easy for some people to get banned on these forums while others are borderline trolling for months without any issue.
Although I am not interested in it being skill based, even if it is luck based then it still effects the game. It doesn’t matter if it was intended or just a technical limitation, that is how it was and that is how it should be again.
If it isn’t a bug or an exploit we shouldn’t even have to ask for it to be restored to the original, that is kind of the whole point of classic… to play the game as it was in 2005-2006.
Blizzard really needs to address whether spell batching is going to be in Classic or not. If it isn’t in Classic, no sub from me. I’ll tell all my homeboys too.
The people contradicting the OP at the beginning of this thread are hilarious. They don’t even understand the mechanic yet want to abolish it and all discussion around it?
I’d be hard pressed to believe any current WoW dev knows more about vanilla than Gummy.
Yah, im sure there wasn’t a history and/or that is all that was said either, so no it is not ‘easy’ to get banned, it’s easy to NOT get banned, and just because someone posts an opinion that someone disagrees with, does not make that person a troll.
This needs to be brought back for Classic. It’s integral to the how the game was played then. This was a consistent mechanic that top players used to get an advantage and could be a learned skill with practice.
It’s sad to see people like Ziryus want to come on here and Troll the forums. Xjum has more knowledge of Vanilla than probably anyone on this thread. Why would people be opposed to spell batching, honestly. It was in Vanilla and allowed players to outplay an opponent if they were able to predict their next move, like an incoming deathcoil and vanish out of it. These were some of the top plays made in TBC Arenas and all throughout Vanilla up to MOP. Lets not debate over this anymore. Spell batching obviously belongs in Classic.
You’re comparing apples to oranges here. Wall jumping isn’t being added in because it’s part of their anti-cheating program. Spell batching is how the game resolved how things happened on screen. No one is cheating or getting an unfair advantage by predicting their opponents next move.
Spell batching changes pvp from checkers into chess.
Can you define exploit for us? Because if playing the game well and predicting your players moves to get the upper hand in a fight is exploiting to you… Then we have found the issue.
