competition can be found through other good players we need a wall between bad and good and that’s through not just cosmetics but power
That wall is called skill.
then build the wall higher when you see a gladiator you should realize how powerful they are
Your gear is part of you, though.
Take your PVE example, they can make a fight as mechanically difficult as the servers can handle but it doesn’t mean anything without the numbers (or gear in pvp) to make it fatal
You will when they outplay you.
personally i wouldn’t consider myself a good pvper but if i was i would want these benefits just like it always has been in wow, cosmetics/power
No one cares what you want. What you want strangled the PvP scene in this game into the sad state it’s in today. What you want is antithetical to what PvP is. What you want is the mindset of a griefer, not a competitor.
What matters is what’s good for PvP, not what’s good for Sumbeitch’s daytime power fantasies of what if he totally had a super awesome training montage and hit glad and got to ride into battlegrounds on his super special sauce mount and flex on the plebs with the digital phallus of his gear by statchecking them into the ground without having to use any brainpower or effort of any kind! We’ve all heard the delusions of temporarily embarrassed millionaires who worship the rich because they’re totally going to be rich one day themselves, and by golly once they have their money ain’t no damned gubment gonna tell them how to spend it, but this is a first hearing from a temporarily embarrassed gladiator.
unless i see other people agree with you, i dont think this is gonna happen with forced scaling its not fun at all, people like power advantages and its not just my opinion either you get gear and you destroy people and continuously grow as you put hard earned progression into your character/game no one ever has complained about being powerful and theres no such thing as griefing this has always been world of warcraft and it doesnt have to cater to the casuals. either if there’s scaling or put in where your forced to fight people your item level then gearing becomes obsolete period regardless of what you think this is what happened in legion and i hate to enter repeative cycle of people like you doing it to the game. unless you find it fun that people in quest gear competing with you thats fine but i dont and many others wont i remember this outrage a long time ago and yeah pvp is supposed to be competive and being competive growing in strength and winning how you can and through skill.
That philosophy didn’t work out well for SL. I kind of like there being more than 5 people playing.
It wasn’t a uniquely SL philosophy, though. It was the philosophy of all expansions except wod and legion.
Having thay large of a gap is a uniquely BFA/SL thing though
Nah… If you want to do the gear climb then PvE. PvP should be about skill and timing not someone that out gears you… If that’s what you want out of PvP then go hang out in the lowbie zones and gank newbs… Because it is the same thing.
Imagine not being able to handle someone who out gears you; that’s part of the fun. This esports mentality killed wow. That’s why sub counts are so low. Pretending you have skill in wow. Play a real skill game like League if you want an actual skill.
Say’s the Lock…
if you think skill means anything in this game your mistaken like i said before most classes rotate between 2 or 3 buttons and cooldowns and maybe some cc or a stun between then and there lmao no such thing as a skill requirement in this game its all about who has gear or who has the better class reason theres no point in taking out the gear because like someone else said this game is 45% gear 45% class/spec 10% skill you take out the gear then the large margin of win condition is souly based on class and spec like now if you took out the gear requirement and made pvp scaling and then you have something like demon hunters in the game you would still have a balance problem and then nothing is settled and blizzard can never make anything balanced its always the flavor of the month type of thing all the time
It did in Wrath, though.
Once people realize pvp was essentially gutted of any meaningful reward, these forums will be on fire.
The forums were already on fire over rating requirements.

One day Harriot Tubman is a criminal, the next she’s going to be printed on money.
Things change, man. Lol
You can still get the carrot on a stick dopamine reward from PvE, not sure why anyone would want that same thing in pvp which is supposed to be about skill.
You get gear, xmogs, weapon enchant, tabards, achievements, mounts, and titles from PVP. Duno why anyone wants to have to do a ton of PVP solely for arbitrary upgrade funds, but I do know I’ve seen the vast majority say they don’t like gear tier unlocking.
