Such an awful take by the OP lmao. Regardless, the system is changing and for the better, can’t wait for the meltdowns. MOP/WOD gearing was amazing, so glad they’re going back to it in DF, woo for alts.

i dont think it makes a difference at all literally because its all will be scaled if this what is gonna happen

Normalization will just mean you have the same ilvl and therefore total stat pool. The amount of haste and crit and mastery you choose to use will still impact your character.

For example the stat choice. Some people prefer haste, other mastery. But yeah, that’s the point: in PvP it should mostly come down to skill.

Why should people in raid mythic gear have an advantage in arena or bgs, just because of their gear? I mean, if they get stomped, they are obviously way above the mmr where they should be.

Gear shouldn’t give you any advantage in instanced PvP.

“so many years”

so like 2 years you mean??? this version of gearing only existed through shadowlands. BFA was mainly PVE gearing centred, legion was stat templates, WoD was basically perfect, etc.

I miss templates sadge

I love how its always the actually really good players who want fair fights.
You inspire me <3

thats the thing theres no skill in this game you got utilty and then your rotation and most classes go between 3 or 4 bottons at most

“Why should people in raid mythic gear have an advantage in arena or bgs, just because of their gear?” at the time there was no pvp gear but i can tell you this much you spend hours and hour weeks and weeks gearing your character to feel powerful and to feel good that you accomplished something to look epic with your armor set and you wanna fight other players to be able to harvest the satisfaction of your invested time and then you got someone who just got level 60 with quest gear just pummel you or put up a fight and all that work and time is pointless why go through the effort of gearing and stat templates mean literally nothing the fact someone might have 5% more haste then you or mastery is little to nothing scaling will kill the gearing system and no one will do it, gear should matter you need to spend the time like everyone else and commit to it and gain the progression most people worked hard for. a large majority of the people who complain abut this is the one’s either super lazy or very casual at the game and get smashed by the people who have more time or worked harder then them on gearing or just progression in general

People do enjoy it. Those same people are the ones whinging for nerfs because their main class is no longer top dog and they find leveling too hard to level another character.

“Waaaaaaah I don’t have an insane gear advantage over scrubs anymore and they can fight back waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah”

Cry me a river. Shadowlands’ PvP gearing absolutely sucked for anybody starting out behind in the season. This is an improvement in every meaning of the word.

maybe you should stop crying about it and realize not everything is gonna be fair the whole point in a mmorpg is time and progression and if you cant handle it then go play call of duty or something

are you saying that you practice for hours and week and weeks, then get beat by someone who just hit 60 and has no idea how to play their class…That it’s blizzards fault?

Right.

i never said practice the whole point is gearing

It will still matter, there will be honor and conquest sets which scale up in instanced pvp despite your rating. You still have to grind the gear and you can choose what pieces with the stats you want are.

Bad take, I put in arguably more work than you in SL and think this system was one of the worst things to ever hit the game.

Eh, it might’ve been fine with reduced honor costs on upgrades.

A fair point Mr. Foxxo, that upgrade system was SO bad lmao.

honestly

if upgrading didn’t require you to cap like 3x over for honor gear, and then 8x over depending on ur peak for conq, it might notve been so bad

I think that I’ve suppressed the memories of running Torghast for ash/cinders twice a week.

Oh, and memories having like a 5% drop rate in dungeons or something.

Yeah, the other thing was that they’d often not really align. You’d get caught up on conquest but wouldn’t have the honor to upgrade it, or you’d rank up too quickly and it’d be in your best interests to go do battlegrounds for 3 days to earn honor.
