Not a glad by a long shot, but can definitely vouch that this is true. Not once did I feel pressured to do PvE to get quality gear.
Not sure if it’s better or worse, but IIRC the “problem” was that some people didn’t know to save up for a weapon first and blew their first week’s cap on bracers or whatevs.
But, as game designers are wont to do, they couldn’t do something simple like just put weapons on a week one quest and have vendor for everything else. They had to overthink it and come up with something more convoluted than the problem.
It’s like the classic “door problem.” Ask an artist to design a door, and they’ll model and texture one in 5 min. Ask a programmer, and you’ll have 4 functions within an hour. Ask a designer, and you’ll get a 10 page questionnaire a week later asking for every possible use of the door and probably some philosophical musings on its symbolism.
Honor level 27.
They essentially just made it worse.
I don’t even get 2 daggers the first time I fill my conquest bar, I only get one. Where as classes who use 2-handers get it immediately.
The people who designed these systems just don’t seem to know what they are doing these days.
We have vendors for benthic gear and it’s upgrades. We have vendors for M+.
This is just targeted at pvp as far as vendor goes, there is not reason not to have them.
People always say stuff like this, but does it actually happen? How many “mythic raiders” spend a lot of time in PvP?
I mean…knowing next to nothing about PvP, I can go here and see that of the top 10 players, only 1 has killed any mythic bosses…and even that’s just the first two:
Now obviously most of them look like they’re getting their mythic 10 done every week. But seriously, why wouldn’t you do that?
Personally I don’t even see that being a problem though. Mainly because it was part of the learning curve of gearing up. I remembered making that mistake too on my first season as well only to find out that I was behind everyone else. And when I did PvP I found out that others were making quick work of me and when I asked my friends/guildies why this was happening they educated me.
Once I got my weapon, I felt the weight of the gear and my chances of winning were greatly increased. Teaching me the importance of the PvP weapon.
By better or worse, I didn’t mean the outcome, but the bizarre reasoning itself lol.
Because we don’t want, nor should we have to PvE to be competitive in PvP.
I do my Mythic keystone every week but I shouldn’t have to if I’m solely interested in PvP.
Bring back PvP stats on PvP gear and the problem is solved.
I’m sure lfr is harder than killing a few players.
I agree it wasn’t really a problem. Were it up to me and something had to be done, I’d have just thrown a gossip option on a vendor with “any suggestions?” as the question and a reply with a tip to get a weapon first then sets. Would provide a simple nudge up the learning curve without breaking all the things for everyone else.
But what do I know? I only make polygons.
According to whom?
I always give WoD crap for being my least favorite expansion…
But I think we can all agree, PVP gearing was never better than WOD. It’s unbelievable how often Blizzard keeps trying to reinvent the wheel.
Um, to how more easily PvE gear is obtainable and better then what we can get in PvP?
I’m guessing you haven’t PvP’d a whole lot these past 2 expansions?
My question was: Why shouldn’t you have to spend 30 minutes per week in an M+10 to be competitive in PvP? Who dictated that?
According to the fact that there wasn’t an outcry for it to be removed?
Common sense?
Do you have to spend 30 minutes per week in PvP to be competitive in Mythic+?
My question was: Why shouldn’t you have to spend 30 minutes per week in an M+10 to be competitive in PvP? Who dictated that?
Because Mythic + is PvE content.
In previous expansions, PvP’ers had the ability to stay completely out of doing out of PvE if they chose to and vice versa.
Now that is no longer the case. It’s PvP’ers that have to PvE to be competitve but not the other way around.
