Put layering back on Herod pls

You and so everyone else on that server and other servers with high pop were given so many chances to move to another server, but decided not to.

Anyone on these high pop servers frankly deserve what they get, as you simply ignored every opportunity given and there was a lot of time and free transfers offered.

Just give it 2 weeks and you can login fine. A third of Herod is quitting and the queue will be gone.

It is favoritism- Blizzard is giving one faction a solution to a problem (ie- giving Horde free xfers to avoid queues) while not giving Alliance the same solution.

By it’s very definition, that is complete Horde favoritism by giving them a solution, while sticking Alliance with a problem but no solution.

If they weren’t playing favourites- they’d give both sides either a solution, or take away the problem- ie giving only Horde a queue, because only Horde get free xfers.

It’s not a solution to queue problems, it’s trying to fix faction imbalance. If they were just trying to fix queues they would have opened both, but they gave AMPLE time for that.

Yea it’s not like you also don’t have friends and a guild you have been playing with since day 1…meh but you should re-roll and forget all the effort you have already put into your character.

I enjoy being on a super popular server. Queues doesn’t matter if you are smart about it. Back when the first few weeks had massive queues I would just remote desktop to my computer at home from work to start the queue and when I got home I only had to wait a little bit.

Also if you get on before 5:30pm you are usually good with no queue with this new one layer system.

That’s fine, because the number of characters you have isn’t relevant. Only the total number of characters that are currently being played.

Don’t implement the feature on any server where you can have characters of both factions. That seems pretty obvious to me.

Put layering back, lol

Transfer or suffer. It’s on you.

Don’t be dumb about this issue man. Blizzard is not playing favorites…

As I said before, our server has been one of the top popular servers out of every server. Before one layer a few days ago our server was in multiple layers which allowed our server to have more people on it at once. Since it is only one layer, a specific amount of people can be in the world at one time.

Also Horde gets free transfers because if you haven’t noticed… It is like 80% horde to 20% Alliance. They are trying to make our server have better balance with both factions and hoping people from the Horde side transfer out so it does balance out in the end.

This will only help your lame faction in the end man… be patient and everything will be fine.

“only fix things for part of the population, seems obvious to me to screw everyone else”

We knew there would be queues, they told us so, but it was worth it for being on high pop.

Faction balance is

  1. worse on PvP servers,

  2. a bigger problem on PvP servers, and

  3. harder to fix on PvP servers.

If you don’t like that one of my suggestions would only apply to PvP servers, that’s too bad. I suggest you get over yourself.

Look at my server and look at what faction I’m playing.

I’m literally suggesting that they make MY queue worse.

I don’t even PvP much, so faction balance isn’t much of a concern for me.

That would require Horde to be capable of winning wpvp without a 4:1 ratio, which they aren’t so no I don’t expect that to help faction balance at all.

There’s an easy solution that’ll help faction balance- give both sides some benefits, rather than stacking all the benefits on the Horde.

If there are queues, give faction xfers- that benefits the Horde.

If not giving faction xfers, don’t have queues- that benefits the Alliance.

wpvp vastly favouring the Horde- benefits the Horde.

No xserver BGs- benefits the outnumbered side on pvp servers.

If they weren’t playing favourites, they’d be doing some things to benefit each side- and no queues, and no BG queues for the outnumbered side would actually make some people consider going to a server where they don’t have a huge advantage.

As is- there’s no reason to xfer off a dominant server. But, there are steps that could be taken to balance servers that would go a long way in actually doing so.

Meanwhile, in blizzard headquarters:

Damn, won’t these buggers quit already we thought they’d be gone by the 2nd week as soon as they figured out there’s no transmog…

You’re requesting they alter their login servers for a temporary problem. Login servers don’t check for character data AT ALL, they would need to pay someone to write that in and we don’t even know if it’s possible with the way they are set up now.

Queues will be gone again in a few weeks.

It’s because more Alliance than Horde took the initial transfers in the weeks and weeks it was offered to both factions.

A queue starting again was not unanticipated, and was warned about by Blizzard and players since before launch and every transfer since then.

I transferred in the second wave specifically because this was coming and wanted to ensure I didn’t miss the window, and each window had a disclaimer it would close each time it opened.

You may not like the solution but there are a couple. Re-roll, wait in queue, or build a time machine and transfer when you should have.

The problem is permanent, and won’t even be solved if they implement everything I suggested. It can only be mitigated.

Yes they do. Selecting your server is part of the login process, and comes before you get put into the queue. The game displays the number of characters you have on each server… and it remembers which server you last logged in to.

Stop pretending like their code couldn’t be changed. Given recent changes, I doubt this would even be that hard.

They already have people on staff to make such changes.

Personally…I think blizzard should do mega servers of each server type, pvp, pve, rp, and rpvp with layers. That would sort out ALL the server imbalances.

The queue problem IS temporary, which would also make your “solution” temporary and wasted dev time

Layering and vanilla systems don’t mix, it’s why they HAD to remove it. You can’t let people kill excessive amounts of WBs, and it would completely F-up the gate opening. which is already screwed up enough.
