To be fair to all the people, we arent mad because its morally grey.. we are mad because its completely stupid and out of character. Those vulpera better be summoning some dark god or having a good reason for anyone to care enough to form 'purge' squads on a nothing tribe in the middle of nowhere.
No you are still the villains or did you forget innocents killed by horde? and yet they let you choose to stay with 'the queen'. nonsense.10/24/2018 06:23 PMPosted by Zaluzan10/23/2018 11:21 AMPosted by DĂźomedesBlizz, this is your answer to make the alliance "morally grey"? This is contrived crap. Seriously, your writers need to go. Get them a job at Huff Post or something, bring in real writers.
Welcome to Horde's world since this expansion started! Enjoy your turn having the everlasting crap beaten out of you with the villain bat.

Especially when Anduin point blank refuses to send help to Tyrande.
Whoa whoa?! You mean the Alliance is actually becoming an interesting faction and is no longer your boring cartoon hero?
In all seriousness, glad the Alliance is getting some evil treatment. Horde got it during Teldressil and now the Alliance is getting their turn. We don't even know the full context, but look what Rogers did in MoP and Taurajo and it sorta fits with the Alliance, they have sorta overdone themselves in few cases.

YOU: "Blizz, Alliance storylines are boring, give us something that isn't just reactionary to Horde!"
BLIZZ: *Alliance preemptively invades Horde strongholds*
YOU: "Blizz, my White Knight cape is stained, WHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
Sweet Christmas, you people.
Oh, I don't know, it could be because we want revenge against the HORDE instead of a neutral race that has no meaning or threat to us?
Yeah, that's not morally grey, that's bad writing and shoehorning.

No Alliance gets to complain about that line after Tyrande and Malfurion in Val'shara.
EVER.
lol While I understand your sentiment, that wasn't Malfurion being all dopey. That was Xavius impersonating him. Tyrande on the other hand. I want to smack her across the face so hard. Maybe if she wasn't being such a big dummy Ysera might have lived.
If it wasn't Malfurion, why was she reacting as if it was? If his impersonation wasn't spot-on, she wouldn't have been upset.
Also, Malfurion is totally the one who got Ysera killed.

It was illusion. Tyrande was hysterical and desperate.

Well, I did say she was acting like a big dummy. lol Also, Blizz is rather fond of writing characters how they want them rather than using logic.
Pretty certain Malfurion was already captured and this was a big ruse to lure us into a very obvious trap. Not really fair to blame him for Ysera's death. As Wanobi said, she should have been able to dodge. Maybe she had lag.
10/24/2018 09:58 PMPosted by ThorlandMaybe she had lag.
In the end, sharding and crz killed Ysera.
::shakes fist at devs::
I knew they shouldn't have broken their word about not adding it to current content.
If she'd only had low latency...

I'll actually give the writing team this one. Imagine, for a moment, your significant other was kidnapped. You and one other person are trying desperately to rescue them. Periodically, you gets calls from someone who sounds exactly like them, crying out that they are in pain, why aren't you there for them, they can't hold out, etc.
I suspect that even the most battle hardened would be hard pressed to maintain their composure. That's part of the reason that family and people connected the individuals aren't allowed near actual hostage situations. To quote a really good movie "It would add an unstable element to a critical situation."

Terminator 2.

Terminator 2.
Outstanding Example.
I knew there was a good one that wasn't coming to mind, it was probably that one.
Slightly off topic, that scene with Dyson's family where she realizes she was about to become the one thing she absolutely despised and has spent years trying preparing John for and trying to destroy was so perfectly written and pulled off.
Part of me thinks there should be a "best scenes" category award or something.
:D
well if killing outcasts was a thing for a war campaign (shouldn't we be asking them for help or offering them something for info on a mutual enemy?). I can see this happening "they helped our enemy therefore they are a friend". Guess it adds to the alliance story line is bad and this is the attempt to make alliance morally grey to.

I'd like to see the purging squad be a group of rogue Alliance soldiers. Instead of 'morally grey', I'd like to see straight black.
"Let's teach these foxes a lesson for helping the Horde!"
Purge squads? After what the Draenei went through with the Orcs, they would never participate in this.
Does Blizzard even read their own drivel?

State-sanctioned genocide isn't morally black enough for you?
Honestly a small, isolated group of soldiers acting out of fear or desperation is a lot more complex and interesting. It's easier to empathize with a small group in a tough spot than a bunch of high commanders who really ought to have the perspective and presence of mind to know better.

I'm beginning to think they should be made to...
...but then again, I'm generally against cruel and unusual punishment.
On the other other hand, I believe the punishment should fit the crime, so yeah...they should be made to read it.
:D
"We need to make the Alliance be bad... but we can't actually have them hurt the Horde, because the punching bag does not get to punch.
I know! Lets have them kill plushy midgets who the Horde like but are basically irrelevant to the Alliance!"

Don't forget, this is the same Alliance whose king declines to press the attack on Zuldazar after the raid because they've already done enough damage and he doesn't want to become as murderous as the enemy.
Because that's totally consistent.

Iâm not doing this stupid purge crap. We should be given a choice to refuse since Horde got one with the whole Saurfang line.
I bet weâre only doing it because Genn is jelly over the fact there are cuter furry things in the world. Put him as a raid boss. Iâll happily loot him weekly. Iâm not on team Dark Lady but Iâd take her side over Genn in a fight.
10/27/2018 07:37 AMPosted by SassiekalIâm not on team Dark Lady but Iâd take her side over Genn in a fight.
So...you're on team genocide?
Because this irrational hate for Genn basically amounts to
"OMG, he dared to stand up to undead waifu after she went on a murder spree through his kingdom (and used a wmd on civilians), murdered his son, and she did a side quest to try and tank the war against the legion so she could get unlimited valkyr. BAD DOGGIE FOR HAVING A BACK BONE!"
OR
Short version: anyone who stands up to the whorde is a baaaaaaad person.
/facepalm
