Purge Squads... really? *8.1 Spoilers*

Is there some context to this?

I mean, I only act like I know it all.. I have to read and learn new things too.

I don't think any context is going to justify burning small cute fox people alive. They helped the horde once, and now the Alliance wants them to pay for it.
Alliance version: a draenei shaman tells you that the vulpera are helping to run Horde supply caravans through Vol'dun. She gives you a totem to scare them away and tells you to burn the supplies after, explicitly telling you not to hurt the vulpera themselves.

Horde version: DEUS VULT DEUS VULT DEUS VULT

Did you watch the gameplay footage? They arent scaring the Vulpera, they are actively fighting and killing them.

Alliance purges will cause the Vulpera in Vol'dun to phone home and shortly thereafter the Vulpine Armada will arrive on the scene with the Last Foxfighter heading a squadron of space alien rebels in the Biennial Fulcrum against the dastardly Draenei and Human oppressors!

You get 11111111/10 points for the last starfighter nod there.
Alliance goes in and starts genociding a race of finix fox people for literally no reason at all, and has had no interaction with them lore wise outside of "Oh hey....there are fox people, thats kinda cool"

The reasoning they give for purging them is so crappy, that we could use the same logic to make turtle soup outta the tortollans.

Bring back metzen for story writing, i had to hear a lot about thrall but at least the story was consistent.

Inconsistent lore in WoW?

Nah....never

Yall literally killed any Zandalari for trying to be allies with us...
Horde does exactly the same thing to the Kul Tirans.

Except "hating and trying to genocide the Horde" has been the Kul TIran m.o. since the RTS games. There's no way you can pretend we're not at war with Kul Tiras and have been since the days of Daelin.

The !@#$ Zul got up to with the Golden Fleet wasn't even in Rastakhan's radar, so the faction of Zandalari that both Horde and Alliance have periodically fought against isn't the trolls that live on Zandalar.

Don’t over think this. It’s a heavy handed way of pushing the Vulpera to the Horde as a player race. Expect an equally heavy handed event or series of events to push the Sethrak towards the Alliance.

We don't need you to push them toward us. We've literally saved their entire race from slavery and extinction. They're already our buddies.

You guys doing this has no value add to the Horde, tyvm.

As bad as that was, it was at least a military strike against an actual Alliance member nation/legitimate target.

Was it? There was no military in the tree. It was all civilians. There was no strategic advantage to having it either, as it wasn't a good position for a port. It was genocide.

Instead of attacking Horde bases on Kalimdor or Broken Isles or Northrend, the Alliance is going to mass slaughter a tiny population of cute cuddly and plucky fox people who offer nothing of value to the Horde, just cuz.

Heavy handed writing to coerce another race to join the Horde. It's the same thing they did with nearly every single race on the Horde.

Actually, the capital city of ANY faction race is a valid military target. It would have been better if Sylv's motivation had been an honest "let's take this city and push all the Alliance bases off of Kalimdor" rather than this nebulous "death of hope" nonsense.

Also, no. We don't need the Alliance to coerce the foxes. You guys will just be one more threat we save them from, in a long list of threats we've saved them from.

Well, we also don't need no stinking foxes that are small in stature and number with no resources to speak of. Unless of course they've got a huge secret underground lair or orbiting death sphere.

Though there is that one guy that likes to collect colorful glass. Maybe they are building lasers. To put on sharks of course. This is a naval expansion after all and what better way to sink an enemy fleet than sharks with friggen laser beams.
IMO morally grey is overdone in everything these days, and Blizz does it in such a bad/unnatural way that it makes the story suck. I'd rather just have a good vs evil trope over this.

Death is at your door, Faithless!

The fury of the vulpera rises from the sands to demand vengeance. And I will have it!

I carry this banner into every battle because I want the Faithless to fear it. To fear my people.

If I die in the battlefield, surrounded by Faithless, I will die happy.

On that day, I will not need a burial or prayers. But I will need someone to pick up my banner and carry it into the next battle.

If you are of the same mind, plant these banners into the corpse of every Faithless you slay. Let the survivors know who's coming for them.

Vulpara have more blood and fire than 90% of the Horde. They don't need no stinkin orbital lasers!

Well there's the rub.

Sylvannas is pitch black. Saurfang is...well, not innocent but let's say "light grey". Thus, the whole horde mixed together is Morally Grey.

Similar things here. The current writing team has Anduin swiching his perfect Golden hair better than any Blood elf could ever hope to, as he's such a nice and wise 17-odd year old. So, in order to "morally grey" the alliance they have to have random hitler purges happening in the background, for no apparent reason.

A good "morally grey" character right now is Bwonsamdi, but all sources look to waste this and turn him into an out and out villain :/

He was supposed to be the one carrying Vol'jin's ashes around, but for some reason he was written out.

This is actually legitimate, Chris Metzen was recovering from back surgery and thus was unable to record the lines for Thrall, so he was omitted from the quest chain. Hopefully we will see him at some point later on.
Is this a post about Shaman buffs?

Please go back a bit and see my response to "it's only beta" line.

How many genocides has he been an active participant in?

That's rhetorical.

The only reason you don't notice a quasar's gravity pull is because you are next to a black hole.

No. Perfectly fine with a random shoulder piece of sargeras' shoulder armor that was in orbit falling off and laninding on thrall's hut, ending the entire family.

No thrall, thrall jr escapades...and definitely no more "GOEEEEEEEEEEL!"

EVER.

The datamining could just be a red herring. It turns out both sides wind up destroying them in an unintentional pincher move after one of their bard's had a drunken sing fest where he sang (for twelve hours straight) a rendition of

"What Does the Fox Say?"

From behind their city's walls.

Naturally, it was mistaken for the work of the old gods and both sides attacked, not realizing the other side was already moving forces from the other side.

As the last "ring-a-ding-ding" went silent, they shared a moment of mutual satisfaction...then went back to fighting each other.

No Alliance gets to complain about that line after Tyrande and Malfurion in Val'shara.

EVER.

Blizz, this is your answer to make the alliance "morally grey"? This is contrived crap. Seriously, your writers need to go. Get them a job at Huff Post or something, bring in real writers.

Welcome to Horde's world since this expansion started! Enjoy your turn having the everlasting crap beaten out of you with the villain bat.

lol While I understand your sentiment, that wasn't Malfurion being all dopey. That was Xavius impersonating him. Tyrande on the other hand. I want to smack her across the face so hard. Maybe if she wasn't being such a big dummy Ysera might have lived.

How many times does it have to be pointed out that was xavius?

Also. One zone.

ONE!

Had to deal with the friggin thrall soap opera through

EVERY.

FRIGGIN'

CATA.

ZONE!

I have to cut short the deathwing victory scene every time, jus so I don't have to deal with thrall and aggra's ugly mugs rendered in 3D, plus even more of their gratuitous lines.

This...to a point.

I mean, it's not like that shard was moving at light speed. Ysera could have dodged...a former dragon aspect should be able to move just a little bit faster.
