My fellow ripcord pullers. It has come to my attention that the anti’s do not want to negotiate. They do not care there are options to make covenants meaningful while at the same time interchangeable, they don’t care about your enjoyment or mine so we do not need to care about theirs either. As one a them pointed out to me “i don’t care if it affects min/maxers” and another said it as “if it give me a chance to compete with someone who plays 10hrs a day I don’t care” and finally a third I encountered said, “we yelled the loudest and blizzard listened.” Very well it seems we have to play their game I am therefore calling on everyone to post #pulltheripcord on as many topic that are relevant to it as possible. If blizzard listens to the loudest then we must make it clear we are the loudest. Remember the anti’s do not care about our time or game experience so we do not need to care about theirs. #Pulltheripcord.
I haven’t seen a whole lot of people on either side of this that want to actually negotiate.
Most “compromises” people put forth are closer to “give me everything I want, then give the other people something small and inconsequential to shut them up”.
Well there 2 main group for me
the ones that don’t really care that much and just want to see it happens, that would probably be fine either way if they would #pulltheripcord
the ones that if you attack in any way the concept of making covenants less a “meaningful choice” then there’s no deal.
The gcd changes are still a small win that they’re still making a lot of core changes.
I’m picking my covenant knowing i’m screwing my optimization.
It will ruin my experience but I want to go Night Fae. I think they’re cool. It sucks I have to gimp myself performance wise, but that’s the game Blizzard wants me to play.
Im willing to negotiate, there are plenty of options to make covenants meaningful choices without locking them but the anti’s do not care ive experiences it myself. So the only way as even they themselves have claimed is to tell blizzard what we want.
I don’t understand why we’re still talking about this. It’s pretty obvious Blizzard intends to release it broken and fix it in 9.x. If they fix it at all
That’s the point we want to make sure it gets fixed by the next patch if not sooner

I think it should be interchangeable but with loss of something valuable. If you were to change here’s what you could lose:

Anima you’ve gained

The Renown System will have to reset
-
Champions you have founded
-
Covenant Mount
To me it makes sense Like this way exactly with how the guild is except you don’t lose the mount because it’s the same for every guild. The reputation will reset and the prices from the guild vendor will rise again. Once you change you cannot switch until one or two weeks have pass by.
Now they can do that or to make it easier just have like a 500-5000 gold fee. Anywhere from there seems like a good fit to me. Also the renown system will reset once again because of the fact you’re joining a new covenant. Again you won’t be able to switch for at least one or two weeks.
Also if you are able to get pathfinder before switching, pathfinder will still be there since it’s an achievement and not a system within the covenant.
I am all for the changeable covenants, but I won’t be changing. I’ve already set my eyes and since I was doing every covenant I just went with ability. I am by no means convincing people to go for the ability you’re more then welcome to do whatever you want. But to make it not interchangeable I won’t be mad but a lot of others will be. So I’m all in for pulling the ripcord.
I’ve also tried to float ideas like having an increasing gold cost to switch Conduits rather than a 1 week cooldown and have been met with being told that’s not good enough because it’s not 100% free switching.
but let’s be honest here: This thread isn’t you trying to negotiate. It’s you trying to group up a bunch of people and paint them in a negative light because they don’t agree with what you want.
I understand why the antis don’t want the ripcord pulled, it’s because they havent experienced anything over LFR, or they’ve never been accustomed to helping other team mates, that’s if they’re not solo players.
At the end of the day, this game is exactly that, a game. So, why shouldn’t I be able to be competitive at all aspects of the game especially with the class that I play.
Currently, for my class I have to pick Kyrian for tanking, Night Fae for healing, and Venthyr or Maldraxxus for damage. While non-hybrid can have a better chance of just picking one covenant and playing their “class.”
I want to be the best tank, damage, or healing my group. If you won’t allow me to be because of lore that doesn’t matter or “meaningful choice” even though its proven we help all the covenants then I don’t want to help you either.
Well they are in a Negative light way paint them as anything else? They don’t care about me I don’t need to care about them. As one of them said this is a battle of how the game should go. Ok if it’s a battle I intend to win
