Blows my mind too. How dare someone who is involved with the game st the highest levels and plays it all day for a living have an informed opinion about something that is literally their job. Lol

I think it’s basically a reaction to how annoying some of their fans are. One of them will say something and then their fans will come here and start posting like they just got off a teleconference with Jesus.

I haven’t really heard bad things about Hazel. She’s about the only one though.

Na trust the players who can’t find PvP vendors and found reforging too complicated! GD is full of the best takes.

I’d be okay with this. They can pull the ripcord if they did this.

And your side isn’t even willing to compromise. Goes to show how unreasonable it is.

For casuals, it’s not about min-maxing. It’s about having freedom to test and experiment on our own. It’s fun to have the freedom to change things up just to try something different or to run some random theme we come up with in our groups.

Like with essences we would sometimes all run iris just to be funny and pull huge, try and aoe everything down. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it would fail miserably. But it was fun either way because we had the freedom fyi change things freely without and time gating and grinding.

The bottom line was that we were able to use what we had already earned.

Yeah this is dumb. Obviously you would support a dumb take like this. All this would do is force people to remain in their top tier covenants for PvE or PvP and push the 4 alts of the same class meta that’s going to exist for the top players. Any casual who wants to switch and not level multiples of the same class get screwed.

Maybe they could provide a renown bonus to remain in a Covenant. Make gaining the rewards and soulbind tiers easier. A straight up damage buff would be broken.

We have a compromise already, it’s not being able to swap covenants but having power separate.

Yeah straight up, It’d only force people to play unwanted alts even more.

Regardless of hardcore or casual status, the majority of players care about their performance.

For that reason alone, and knowing that Blizz will not be able to balance these abilities well, covenant related abilities should be treated like talents.

This is true, all you need to do is join any class discord and search the phrase “best” and you’ll see literal hundreds of comments asking what the best covenant is looking to be in Shadowlands and we’re months out from it releasing still.

People care.

That isn’t a compromise, that is your side getting everything.

How do you figure? You wanted to stay loyal to a covenant, thats how its achieved.

But, I’ll extend an olive branch. I don’t think we should just get everything for free, noone should. But, there should be a means to earn everything else along the way. We get the covenant stuff for the original covenant, and earn the rest of the abilities afterwards. I’m fine with that.

Nothing stopping you from staying loyal, never doing those WQs for the opposing covenants and RPing they hate each other(when they don’t).

That is a compromise. Then your covenant choice would actually be meaningful in story, cosmetics, mounts, souldbinds, conduits, campaign, WQs, covenant exclusive abilities. We’re only asking for the class specific abilities be taken out of the equation, yet you’re not even willing to part with that. YOU can’t compromise, we can.

That loyalty would be only for fluff reasons.

Some of us don’t plan on using the transmogs or mounts. It’s the covenant power that interests us.

If the covenant powers actually interested you, why wouldn’t you want access to all four?

If you don’t it can you let me know please. I’m still looking. :joy:

I’m unsure what makes you so vigilant about this. You’re not allowing any kind of wiggle room in your argument, you refuse to let go that there shouldnt be a ‘compromise’ that doesn’t directly have a numbers benefit.

What on earth?

We’ve been through this:

Current System:

  1. Some people pick covenants based on power, instead of getting fully immersed in their covenant of choice they will feel like mercenaries who will move if the meta moves
  2. Some people pick for thematic reasons

Proposed System:

  1. Everyone gets to pick what they like the most

??? Who’s not making sense here?

Because that kills the meaning of being on a team when you can just be all four teams.

“I am soandso the Venthyr warlock!”
“Big deal I was a Venthyr last night lol who cares”

…okay, noone said I’m playing for all four teams. I suggested I be able to pick the covenant I enjoy the most. So far, we’re on the same team. Now, I’m suggesting we be able to earn the other 3 covenant abilities through some sort of grind. I’m still part of the original covenant, but now I can actually experiment with builds, and when Blizzard yanks the rug out from under my feet, I don’t feel like I need to start over from square one halfway through a tier. Why is that so difficult for you to process?

Where in the above statement did I mention I’m going to be going and playing for a different team?

That’s all you’ve been saying. You want to have access to the benefits of all four teams.
