Is there somewhere I can go to see what “pulling the ripcord” means? I’m wanting to know the exact details of what “pull the ripcord” looks like.
My characters identity is currently firmly kept at the unsubscribed role. I’m roleplaying it like a pro right now. Haven’t been seen online in months
We haven’t lost till the new expansion after SL comes out so, keep posting blatant lies so that you can sleep at night Because that’s all that maters to you, that your right. Not that we all enjoy the game, not that we can all have a good time, but the fact that your “correctness” makes you so giddy that it allows you to go through the whole expansion with the idea that you got us.
You got one over the "Elites/YouTube streamers/Number Gargelers
So keep posting your troll comment so that when SL comes out and you pick the Covenant that’s the best for your class, which is subsequently nerfed to oblivion, you can jump on your what? 4th 5th level 10 alt? So you can complain about how right you where that covenants suck, and need to be unlocked.
We don’t know exactly, Ion only inferred that if covenants are going to go as badly as it appears they are currently, they can just ‘pull the ripcord’ and everything will be fixed. Speculation is that this means either the covenants are all unlocked, and people are free to swap whenever, or, preferably, covenants are locked, but the power choices are separate from the cosmetic choice.
You can thank Blade flurry for that. the same blade flurry that has been HEAVILY nerfed in shadowlands.
I’ve updated the original post, but long story short It’s the fallback plan Blizzard have in case covenants aren’t well recieved which would open the systems up to have abilities/conduits/soulbinds easily swappable.
Where does it give the details? I would like to read the official post, because others have said there aren’t any details about it. I’m just wondering if people had considered that the ripcord isn’t just a free-for-all, but is a bland, watered down version of the system. Pulling the ripcord might not be everything everyone dreamed of, and it would be nice if I could read exactly what this godsend actually does for us.
Hmmm…
Anyone wonder if pulling the ripcord was the plan all along and they are just making it seem like they will not do so only to do it at the last minute to get some PR and say something along the line as “See, we listen”?
There is no lock again you are touting a lie here. Just say what you want and not lie to further achieve that goal.
How about a solution for both side? Allow a stacking buff to those staying with one covenant that empower the abilities you get. Say a 10% damage increase for staying with one Covenant. A debuff weekly for each time you swap. That way you can switch up any time during the week but you pay a small price?
Again this would mean a RPG element remains and you get to swap when you want.
Perfect solution to me.
Maybe casuals want to have fun playing around with all the covenants and abilities. Not everything in this game is done for min maxing purposes.
I do not like that solution. The rpg elements of the game should be focused on aesthetics and world building not power progression
THis belf gets it.
I want to have fun and experiment . People like me should not have to suffer because others think they are sticking it to the 1% . They’re not.
The 1% will have their 4 toons of the same class/spec for each covenant if covenants launch unchanged.
Once again I would like to say to those that say they speak for all of the casuals .
Shut up you don’t . YOu only speak for yourself.
I agree the 1% will make 4 of each character. They dont care. They have the time and they play this game for living income. We casuals do care because we dont want to struggle to be optimal. The current design is more favorable to The 1% Than it is to casuals by a long shot.

When people who raid heroic and do 15ish keys start thinking that they might need to level up multiples of the same class and spec to take advantage of several covenants for different purposes, the system is bad.
I thought this was America. Give me freedom.

just like my bey blades, let em rip.
You can take your fight on semantics that never made sense and put it in the trash where it belong with your solution as encouraging to stay lock with power reasons is as worse if not worse than what we got.
If we want to start making rpg elements, there are a lot better things they could do better than the current covenants. So don’t try to make it sound like this is the only way they can do it.
Good day
Literally even worse. How about a stacking damage buff that only functions in open world content not in pvp or in raids/dungeon. That way you get the rp that doesn’t even make sense with the story and can finish world quests slightly faster.
My #1 favorite RPG element of all time is carrying hundreds of mounts in my back pocket at all times so I can randomly select one of them to ride at any given moment. I just hate it when I dismount one and need to do a week long grind to get his trust back so I can use him again.
