I want to be able to pick a covenant I want to play without having to settle for an ability that seems way less fun than my uglier other options.
Nothing to do with m+ or raid.
Everyone is going to level through the covenants. They’re going to test the abilities. They’re going to perhaps fall in love with one. Then they see the ability they love is from the covenant where the mindset or aesthetics are nothing like what they want.
Now they’re like ‘but… do I just forget how to shoot an arcane spark just because I wanna be a vampire? Hm. This kinda sucks. I’m going to go play skyrim again.
…right. So we should double down on borrowed power to bring people back to the game? That’s what people love…having their characters lose an IMMENSE amount of power in the prepatch of the following expansion. Right? All those borrowed power abilities in TBC and Vanilla really made the game the best it could be.
I am OK with them untying abilities from the Covenants BUT I still want them to be a locked decision that has the same penalties associated with changing covenants. You can easily change to a new ability but you can not easily change back to a previous one.
And I’m ok with locked covenants but easy ability swaps. No idea why it should be hard to change an ability when talents and essences already exist in the game.
Imagine thinking a talent that isn’t apart of your talent tree isn’t a talent, but the ability your choosing just like a talent in a talent tree changes up your play style just like a talent in a talent tree, but just hiding the word talent behind covenant abilities makes people think it isn’t actually a talent.
Woah woah woah. Let’s back off from the vitriol here, that’s not going to get us anywhere. We were discussing the currently locked talent rows, let’s get back on topic please.
