šŸŒ PTR Update

Why are people who donā€™t use authenticaters lazy/stupid? Have you regularly been hacked in the past? Sounds like a you problem. Enjoy giving your data to Blizzard for bag slots.

Only losers still unironically play AV

Enjoy pretending you arenā€™t already giving that data to Blizzard by not using one.

Every tech company has your data whether or not you use their programs and they sell it even if you never checked an ā€œI agreeā€ box.

ā€¦what?

The single most hyped part of Classic to me (with it being on newer software) was getting more responsive gameplay, and it was the very first thing Blizzard denied. <_>

As someone who PVPā€™s I am glad that PVE players queueing into this BG just for rep are highly discouraged to queue into AV anymore. It improves the quality of life for PVPers.

Your definition of PvP is far different than mine.

PvP to me is equal footing. Thatā€™s what a BG is supposed to be.

Iā€™m also sure we could compare PvP achieves going into TBC or WOTLK, to suggest Iā€™m not a ā€œpvperā€ is silly. Iā€™m mostly sure you wouldnā€™t hold up.

A coordinated effort like that is wonderful. But you almost never get that. What you get is 1 or 2 stealthies taking things and 2 or 3 horde taking them back.

Yes, itā€™s a small gain but usually not enough to swing the entire BG.

What if you could get a whole group of like-minded people to go into the same BG andā€¦oh wait, Blizzard got rid of that. Never mind.

Extreme comparison but the fact is you guys absolutely deny thereā€™s any map issues and have your heads in the sand. Why? Because youā€™re not the one facing the issues so therefore they do not exist.

WoW forums are great for anyone who likes sociology because you can see how people act when nobody thinks how they act means anything.

PVP to me is not having the game changed in favor of one faction because ā€œthey keep loosing in one particular 40 Man battlegroundā€ or because ā€œno one wants to group up with me beause I refuse to co-operateā€.

I donā€™t know what ā€œequal footingā€ means to you, but thatā€™s what it means to me.

If you dont know what that means then you must not know how severe the map imbalance is.

No amount of being bad at the game would equal 95% loss rate. If you honestly think the Alliance player base is that bad then you are blindly looking at AV.

What are you talking about?

Alliance is loosing AV because the patched premades in favor of the horde and Solo queuers.

I wish I knew what it felt like to be out of touch with reality.

I bet it feels nice.

A large part of why blizzard got rid of premades for alliance was them absolutely abusing the system, causing empty AV if they didnā€™t get enough of their friends in, they left. And falsly reporting the randoms they ended up with toā€¦ You guessed it, get more of their friends in.

Premade alliance AV ruined premades for themselves by their behavior.

Brings up good points and facts

ā€œAliEnCe Iz 2 BlaMeā€

Do you people know anything else? Are bots on this forum? Because I cannot explain behavior in which everything is ignored and the same talking point is pushed over and over like a program.

Ironically ā€œitā€™s the mapā€ is basically a meme now for the alliance because they show horde map advantages in AV, dismiss all alliance map advantages, and act like the map is the major factor causing alliance to lose AV 99% of the time.

The map is mostly balanced.

Based on actual vanilla data is 60/40 favoring alliance, based on classic data itā€™s 40/60 favoring horde. Which means the maps balance is relatively close and leans slightly toward horde at most.

But hay, keep your rose tinted glasses on and blame the map, which is the same map that actual vanilla saw alliance with the higher win rates.

The #1 factor making alliance lose AV in classic, is themselves, not the map.

You are so out of touch you donā€™t even realize that you are out of touchā€¦

Premades ruined premading for themselves by their behavior.

Hidden within the premade change was a change that alone should have been used if it was ā€œ to help allianceā€. This was the change to not allow a game to start unless 20 players were in the game ( would have made that 30). If that was the only change, horde would still complain. Even now when a premade comes in (due to not many people queueing) horde are just livid and come to forums and reddit to complain that they lost once and expected an auto win. Both sides are guilty of complaining. ally alts will be just fine if they do end up actually taking away the rep farm. Ally just wonā€™t queue. Everything in there is replaceable. Pretty much like pvp gear will be once aq comes out but thatā€™s a different topic.

This game started with 45 players. As far as I can tell the ā€œgames starting with 20 playersā€ means the games start 20v20 for low-pop games. That line of patch notes does absolutely nothing to stop the AV instance from launching with 80 people in queue, and then 35 Alliance dropping the queue.

Edit: Here is the patch-note in question.

ā€œWeā€™re fixing a setting that allowed the battleground to start with as few as 20 players on a team.ā€

Lets read this one very carefully. The first part is ā€œWeā€™re fixing a setting that allowedā€ā€¦this implied that the setting was enabled and working PRIOR to the patch. The second part ā€œAs few as 20 playersā€ Which means ā€œ20 OR MORE.ā€

So lets put these together, that patch note means that prior to the AV fix, games would launch with 20 or more on a team, not 0-19.
