šŸŒ PTR Update

I like it. 4 extra bag slots is not going to change anything about Classic. Seeing how a lot of bots are just hacked accounts, it will reduce the number. Sure 4 bag slots is not ā€œClassicā€ but neither is the amount of bots.

We have to start somewhere if we want the bot issue fixed.

If your in AV you should have the talent to make you have the aoe fear, have you tried fearing the commander and capping while he is CCed? ā€œIā€™m not specced into itā€ isnā€™t an excuse as this is pvp complaints about AV, if your not maximizing your contribution your doing something wrong, but in sure itā€™s the maps fault you are not specced for pvp, and that your mages are not specced for pvp. But hay itā€™s the mapā€¦

Sorry if ā€œfactsā€ equate to ā€œwhiningā€ in your brain.

All warriors learn intimidating shout at lvl 22.

Iā€™m ā€¦ not trying to cap the tower. Iā€™m usually over there trying to kill LTs for honor without being noticed. Sometimes Iā€™m by myself or have just one other person, and I canā€™t kill the commander (for honor) until someone else shows up. Sometimes Iā€™m just trying to quietly clear the path of archers while waiting for others to come help kill LTs. Sometimes I have a team of folks ready to cap a tower and hold it til it burns ā€“ even then we kill the archers because they are annoying, as mentioned in my previous post.

Also uh ā€¦ mages not specced for pvp? Any frost spec works fine. And frost is still the meta. Youā€™d have to be winterā€™s chill or something to not be useful as a Frost in PvP.

Aw, got it, focusing on honor/rep
instead of win condition objectives.

How odd that this amazing strategy isnā€™t giving the alliance some amazing win rates.

Not attempting to cap towers without ā€œa team of folks ready to capā€ is not a winning strategy?

Did you know that the rep and honor giving objectives are also win conditions?

And itā€™s 40 man pug. Sadly no one gave me a whip to make the other players go for my personal objectives. Itā€™s almost as if, hear me out, it would be better if everyone from both factions had the same goals. But as explained to you before, Alliance come for reputation only and never come back because the experience sucks for them.

Did you know that soft capping actually helps to break up zergs and contribute to the win condition? And the downside to soft capping and moving on is: ?

I mean, a single person capping a tower and drawing 5+ horde to recap said tower opens up pressure in another spot, but itā€™s not about the win or even strategy for alliance. Because sheā€™ll the map gives them an auto loss apparently so why even try to win.

ā€¦

It amazes me alliance think itā€™s the map causing their 99% loss rate, itā€™s how your playing the game you alliance whiners.

Edit: quoted wrong person, lol

People who deny the AV map issues are like the people who deny police brutality and systematic racism. Thereā€™s no disadvantage to them so in their mind there is no disadvantage to anyone at all.

Alliance had to premade to get a chance to win because the issues are so glaring. Nothing is equal on the map, down to the summoning of the bosses. You have to rely on terrible horde play or players being undergeared to win orā€¦ premades.

WoW would be a great tool for anyone involved with Sociology, give anyone some privilege and theyā€™ll do anything to keep it.

Stealthers regularly cap and back cap. If you are standing there, in a tower, able to soft cap it and you donā€™t because you do not have a ā€œteamā€ with youā€¦ good grief dude.

And distracting the horde by getting 5+ people to stop 1 player helps your 39 other players, regardless of how organized your group of randoms are.

Heck if the horde is unorganized enough we end up sending 10+ to recap from 1 person, so even if the rest of the alliance and horde are fighting on your GY, that gives your team a chance to push back because now itā€™s 39 vs 30 and can even result in soft caps of other horde bases.

Back in actual vanilla I had a game that will remain with me for a long time in memory.

We as the alliance were pinned at our main base, but we had maybe 7 stealthers sneak past, we capped all of the horde towers at at the same time, this gave us enough breathing room to retake all of our graveyards and 2 horde graveyards, because after the towers were soft capped, the stealthers soft capped the graveyards, then went back to towers to recap those to a soft cap then back to graveyards they never fought, but their actions caused the hordes to scramble in a panicked mess.

Misdirected and distractions are VERY effective in AV. But the alliance donā€™t bother with itā€¦

If the LTs team soft cap they will be wiped by the horde and there will not be another chance to earn honor from LTs. This is the current reality of Alliance AV.

Changing the meta requires some sort of change in rewards and time for the player base to learn and change behavior. You are stuck to the idea that the meta is because Alliance are lazy or bad or something. They are the exact same player base as the Horde.

The same conditions and reward structure applied to the Horde player base will result in the same behavior from the Horde. If they had insta queues, a 2% win rate (being generous), and a really good epic item at the back of a reasonably easy rep grind, they too would maximise rep over honor. And they too would simply not go to AV as an honor seeking player (with again insta queues for AB and WSG) when they can be much more successful and have more fun in the other BGs.

As a single Alliance player, perforce since AV premades are not a thing, I can only humbly go and make the best of it. As an exalted Alliance player (2 chars) I only go on AV weekend for honor (which means sometimes the best I can get from a losing BG is quietly killing LTs) or to get potions from the quartermaster and leave.

Because I actually enjoy AV and have the same fond memories as you do, sometimes I hang out and kill a few horde and see if I can help them make a go of it. When they actually grind out some rep and hold SHGY for 200hks, they do seem to have more fun. But many many games are a total bust. Because months of faction imbalance have left AV a shell of what it once was. The map is part of it. The queue imbalance is part of it. The neglect by Blizzard is all of it.

You do not need to stay and get wiped after soft capping. The goal is to draw the enemy away from the front line.

Your response to the suggestion to soft cap does not exactly help to disprove that.

:man_facepalming:
This is why I and others cannot stand the discussion much anymore. With the meta of ā€œmust stay at SH and turtle every gameā€, while at the same time bemoaning a 99% loss rate, how are we to take you seriously? Do you think BLIZZARD takes you seriously when alliance post such things?

Ther overarching reason alliance are losing is that the other 2 BGs are better for HPH, and moreso those alliance who still play AV are undeniably NOT playing to win. Alliance had a higher win rate during the same patch of vanilla, and the cave respawn, while something that should be fixed, does not explain a 99% loss rate.

So happy for the fixes to AV. Now if we can get them to patch the exploit jumps in WSG and the building climbing in AB.

Also fix the shaman spell batch exploit which allows them to one shot anyone because itā€™s bullcrap. Or add spell resilience to the pvp sets.

Haha on the extra 4 bag slots if you use an authenticator! Is this Blizzardā€™s remedy for the hundreds of thousands of botters in Classic? ā€œBonus for trying to protect your account from the constant onslaught of organized crime as it pays us megabucks for the opportunity to hack you!ā€

ROFL. Lolololol. OMG!

Itā€™s clearly them giving people an incentive to add 2-factor to their account because there are an apparently large number of people who are too stupid or lazy to do it without the incentive.

Obviously itā€™s not their idea of a fix. Whatever theyā€™re cooking up is clearly taking a while, this is simply a band-aid to potentially free up resources and reduce future tickets.
