What is next on the list of excuses, if blizzard makes your desired changes and you still have a losing record?

Horde map advantage isn’t an excuse.

Horde have a distinct map advantage. Anyone who says otherwise is blind, stupid, or both.

The only victory I have seen in the last 5 months was a 2+ hour AV in which my Paladin alt net herself 700+ HKs, we somehow managed to stymie the Horde at Vann, took SHGY, and steamrolled through while the Horde tried to out zerg us. To put it another way, the Horde played horrendously, had hardly any good geared people on their side, and we outhealed them so badly that they couldn’t respond.

To put it yet another way: the Alliance only win when the Alliance decide to stubbornly stay in the game for far too long for most people and the Horde simply suck at playing from start to finish.

That is why AV is a rep farming simulator and nothing more. You can’t expect people to play a game where they know the odds are dramatically against them and there is nothing to show for putting on a “good fight” that still loses. Get your rep, get out, move on.

I just stopped arguing with the defeatist mentality alliance because they only see parts of AV that give horde advantage, they ignore all of their own advantages and blame the map.

They look and see what horde have with envy and ignore the fact of what they have and instead consider horde as an overwhelming map advantage because they see what they have and dismiss it as part of the horde advantage somehow…

I mean, some of us are now simply supportive of them getting their laundry list of changes done, yet even that is not good enough for them. They insist that we “admit” that what they are complaining about is the reason they continually lose (rather than what we have explained to them over and over repeatedly about HPH with queue times and the other 2 BGs).

I truly want to know what they plan to blame next, if those changes happen.

edit: This will not address enough to stop the excuses:

What is meant by “bypassing Icewing Bunker”?

Probably the hopping between the gap between the mountain and the bunker itself, such that you avoid the archers/road and unless someone is over in that nook, you don’t get stopped. If there is some other way up and over the mountain further West I don’t know, but that gap hopping is probably it.

The map. The end.

Don’t worry we don’t need to talk about AV anymore. We can’t hold druids any more for rep.

AV is now dead to alliance, you won’t need to worry about us queing.

That would be an odd change. Especially in light of the horde flags being completely out of LOS of the archers.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t you stop playing AV quite a while ago? Didn’t realize you were the representative of the entire alliance playerbase.

Naw I was doing it on my hunter for the ring.

Alliance does it for rep.

Rep has just been destroyed by Blizzard.

Logic suggests a pretty simple conclusion to AV.

…

You know you can cap bunkers without triggering any archers right?

Well… they have been made. No more backdoors for either faction. Can’t kill the end bosses solo either.

You know that comparing a minute spot you have to stand after getting hit by multiple archers is a bit different than running right past an archer and ducking into a completely enclosed space with a flag, right?

That alliance backdoor obliterates one of the primary complaints/excuses of alliance. Unfortunately it seems that the druid exploit fix is more important to them.

No it just means alliance rep farmers won’t queue for av if it goes live. Which means an will be dead

Doubt it. There are a number of ways to gain rep in the BG. Alliance will simply have to find something else.

It is sad that alliance gets so upset when their clear exploits are patched. Cannot be happy enough with having virtually instant queues, everything has to be gamed/exploited.

Yes there are a number of ways, but most of them involve not being trapped by the iwb choke. Bridge shouldn’t be an issue anyway since popping a lip will make it obsolete

Don’t be surprised when “something else” turns out to be “just skip the grind and start soft reserving/GDKPing the replacement raid items immediately”.

Alliance rep farmers are already doing everything possible to get rep, and holding druids is an order of magnitude better than everything else. Without that, most are just going to give up. I know I’m skipping the rep grind on all alts that aren’t more than halfway through revered already.

To be honest, I’d prefer the queues. Better to wait 2-3 hours for a game that isn’t incredibly lopsided against you.

Are you seriously whining about the amount of archer arrows you take when attacking a bunker vs a tower?

No wonder you’re so ill informed about the map haha

Horde archers hit like a truck from 50 yards. To avoid IBT archer fire you need to be completely behind Galv or all the way over to IBGY, and if you go too far you’re into TP archer fire. I typically take the time to mount the towers and … kill the archers. Even if I don’t have the support to kill the commander yet because they are that annoying. I don’t really see IWB archers being so problematic, Horde usually mount up, ride past (wall gap or not) and simply los them with the hillside. Also have you even noticed where SHB is? What exactly is it defending?
