So what should you do if someone is trolling you in one? Put up with it? Leave? Vote to kick gives the group the means to remove the problem.
Heroics / normals who cares on damage. Have fun, get fat lootz, and maybe make some friends.
I chit chat in them and be all silly.
If people are wiping and leaving in this queue’d content they’re in for a world of hurt in M+
Depends on the gear and depends on the experience. Most are still just learning this stuff. Very few are even thinking M+ right now. Come back in a few weeks, then yeah.
I see this happening sometimes. One player will spam vote kicks for whatever reason. This guy is a jerk, this player is mean, this player isn’t doing what I told her/him to do, player is an idiot, etc. I almost always vote no unless it’s some blatant issue, like AFK at the start, pulling everything, not healing, etc.
Vote kicks should have to be unanimous. It still protects the group from bad actors, but mitigates some of the flimsy and thoughtless reasons to kick.
Didn’t you just say in the OP that you guys wiped and the group died because of it? Also it’s not the job of someone else if you’re new to the class and just mashing random buttons. Find a guide for a play style you enjoy and stick to it. Going in with 0 clue how to play your class after doing 70 levels is inexcusable.
I disagree that it’s inexcusable given that boosts exist, but I would agree it’s poor form for people who should know better.
100% of the time if someone says they’re new to a class, I will help where I can.
obviously it is difficult to really know whether or not someone is actually trying but just doesn’t really know what they are doing versus someone who is really doing the least possible work.
in queued content, I don’t really care so much. especially right now in leveling or heroic dungeons, stuff dies so fast it doesn’t really make any difference.
as a tank, i just keep doing my thing and the dungeon will be done in ~10-15 minutes anyway.
I left a Dawnbreaker the other day.
I did it right at the start though. I just wasn’t in the mood for that one.
-1000 dungeon points!
When it comes to boosts I just expect that, but when it’s someone who actually leveled from 1-70 then it’s inexcusable. Sorry I should’ve added that context to my initial reply.
Hey maybe they should give negative rating for leaving normals and heroic dungeons. Make people start off at -1000 mythic rating if they don’t stay in groups all preseason long.
So a player could enter a dungeon, AFK at the entrance, and effectively force the rest of the group to choose between boosting them for free or eating like half an hour of deserter for leaving because they can’t VTK the leech.
I’d be okay with watching the forum rage over that one.
Gonna need all 10s just for your KSM this season you dirty, dirty leavers!
Some players are very trigger happy with kick. When a player dc’s, in the past we’d wait a few mintues to see if they come back. Lately I’ve been seeing a kick go up right away, but it’s those kick happy people who will do it for literally anything.
I’m convinced 99% of players are normal, decent people that don’t care to do that, but there’s the bad apples that love to do it who ruin the perception. All you need is 100 of them sprinkled around, and they’ll make it seem like more players do it than in reality.
So I can only speak to my own experience…
I played a human warrior first. But I had always liked Nightelves in WCIII and I ultimately chose to play feral druid. Maybe not the best choice as a newbie (I am a wrath baby). I really struggled to learn rotation. It was only through a guildie helping me one on one hitting a training dummy that I got the hang of it. And yes the John Madden feral dps meme for it’s time while a meme; had an element of truth to it.
I remember having low DPS at one point. Like ridiculously low. I knew I wasn’t performing well and I hated that feeling. But thanks to a guildie, my numbers did improve. But the kind of statistical numbers that you gain from knowing a rotation are just one part of the equation. The other is the gear. Heroic dungeons typically have a minimum item level to even queue. But with better gear comes better numbers. If the others in the group was doing far more damage? I think it may also be fair to say they were probably better geared as well? There are probably any number of variables.
Maybe their spec is not optimal for the situation. But I think that is one of the upsides to follower dungeons. Players can familiarize themselves with the given dungeon and see how their spec performs without the pressure of being a group. No one wants to feel like their time is being wasted from repeated wipes.
I think boosts too can have a net negative impact in that you miss out on really learning your class from leveling them up. So what ends up happening is a player boosts a class they don’t have a lot of experience playing, and then they try to do group content and they have a lot of abilities frontloaded.
At any rate? “Trash” isn’t a valid or legitimate reason for kicking someone. If you can’t articulate why they deserve to be kicked? Then they shouldn’t be kicked.
Well, according to blizzard, no reason is a valid reason if the rest of the group agrees
Yeah don’t hold your breath. The game has been developed in such a way that breeds this selfish mindset. It has gotten worse and worse over the years and at this point the majority of the wow community …
